What does this page tell u bout Gibson?

haha i agree wif guitarsan man. as much as we can say the esps and the grecos are good, we always will want a gibson simply cos tts a gibson. i mean if u had a greco lp and a gibson lp wif the exact same specs and price which one would u go for?

ONLY A GIBSON IS GOOD ENOUGH.

Lighten up man, fender's been doing the same thing as well making all sorts of funny products - just take a look at their yearly catalogs, and so has PRS, heck they even have a private stock wristwatch made by fossil.

All these companies have got a great brand, and at the end of the day it's business.

With such a strong competitive advantage as a their brand, I see nothing wrong with leveraging on it.

It's just about the same thing as having a guitar strap which says gibson.

heck, i wouldnt mind gibson tying in with victoria's secret.
definitely much better than fender with hello kitty.

and the thumb drive is for sale.
go check on ebay, almost USD80 for it.
at that price it better be made from proper mahogany.

well...i own a greco..i'm sure everyone knows..but hey..its true..deep inside..i still yearn for a gibson lp..well...simply cos "Only A Gibson Is Good Enough"..but if i can't afforfd it..i will jsut wtick with my greco...7more months before my gibson arrives..

+1 to Souljah for your "ONLY GIBSON IS GOOD ENOUGH" comment.

Personally, though I'm a fender fan through and through, my ethos would be slightly tweaked to "ONLY A 60's / Custom shop GIBSON IS GOOD ENOUGH".

The weight and tone of a vintage one is 8O . Current LP standards have really muddy sounding p/us IMO.

Besides, there are quite a number of lawsuit models out there which have nicer bursts than some gibsons that are in MY price range as of now. :D

Don't know about you guys, but I've got more friends that can tell nice looing guitars from bad ones that those that can tell the difference between a PRS single cutaway and a LP.

PS Thanks everydying for your info! I'm checking out ebay as of now!

I'll actually be interested in the flash drive, lol...it'd be better if it was a LP Junior!

You need the R9 (59 reissue) then. Unfortunately, (as with Fender), Gibson also tweaks their guitar specs so that you need to buy their higher end models to get that certain spec. On the other hand, it's arguable that the specs are a downgrade - it can simply be due to preference. I do agree on the "muddy bass" thing on a lot of LPs - a lot of LPs exhibit the sound and it does get very irritating.

The next option is to find lawsuit guitars that faithfully replicate the R9 specs.

heres another reason not to get a brand new gibson.

yea, pre-cut saddles, look at how wide and deep it is.
lots of complains on the LP and SG forums on it sucking tone especially on the high strings.
