Your friendly neighbourhood SYNE OF TYME will be doing a 30 min "get to know the regulars" showcase at TERRY'S TAVERN THIS fRIDAY, 18 Aug around 1030PM. Syne of Tyme then kicks off our regular Thursday night stint there from 24 Aug 06 ...kick off at 9pm....

Club is located at Katong Village - look for the big green neon sign...

No smoking in the club - big smoke zone / tables etc out back ...lotsa collector piece guitar on dislpay though.....

Though we didnt hav any kakis down last night for our 30 min set at TERRY'S TAVERN, we throughly enjoyed the pub - friendly, no airs, everyone knows everyone kinda joint - havent had such great fun since the blues tavern days. Great having the chance to watch Terry, Hans & Richard perform ... and real nice making new friends there last night.....

according to FGL's sms to me earlier -
syne of tyme plays 2nite (thursday) at the terry tavern from 9pm.
also he has info us that a well known band 'the equires' will be coming down to 'jam' - the equires are yoko ono sax stylist E Gana aka dan the man and .....a whole new bunch of 'super sessionists' backing him.
in my opinion i figure the musos backing him are vinnie colaiuta on drums, jimmy 'flim' johnson on bass, mike landau on guitar and john beasley on keyboards! waht a line up!!! i am so frikkin lucky to be playing there tonite!!! see ya'll there!!!!

Anyway with roko baroko 'aka Francis' in bass for this gig...i'm out...' my skills are way too far behind to handle his singkopek playing.

sorry bebs & dudes ... I accepted this gig and only later found out stewartbass was goin 2b away....my subsequently calls for a suitable replacement among my list of bassists also proved futile - most were unavailable.

Francis' selection was based on the step down scale but at least he knows the songs - even if he isnt the best choice to "lock & bottom or groove with drummer"...

As a frontman / organiser etc, I need supporting players who KNOW the songs enough to cover for 3 sets... unless we gonna just jam blues & rock & roll all nite long..... moreover there isnt any time for rehersal .... esp for a 1 ngt stand gig.

Of course, we all respect and wish each other all the very best in their individual endevours...No obligation on the part of any one to play or not to play...

The show must go on.....
 
PPL - biz resumes per normal tonite for SOT at Terry's Tavern - kick off 9pm...come on down...

Kick off at 9pm till 12ish...

Come down, have a drink and have a jam with us if you feel like it - the mgt there ok with jammers....

Note: It's non smoking pub!

Thanx 2 all the kakis, and "Tavern Idols" jammers (some of whom were REALLY BAD!) .... nevertheless it was a nice outing last night at Terry's.....

Just a word of advice to jammers: dont ask us for song lyrics - we dont use song books on stage :x and try not to ask me to "prompt" you ....better to learn the song first before attempting it, under the influence of Dutch courage... :roll:

It happens all over again tonight - kick off at 9pm...
