hey hey, maybe u wanna take a look at similar threads listed below. yes scroll down...

anyway, 300+ is considered a good budget for 2nd hand multi effects. what u can get get:

ME-50: very user friendly
podxt live: amp modeling
zoom g2.1u: people say its kinda hard to use but good sound, and cheap
korg ax3000: like podxt live

just some. go search the models over the internet. better info.

cheers

ey...Korg ax3000g sounded like an option for me too? can i plug it into any amp, works just lilke stomp-boxes?

yeaps...guitar--efx---amp, unless u want to add in some individual stompboxes in between. oh u know some ppl, mfx dist not nice la...that la..

OK, thanks! That case I need not go buy a modelling amp lah, get a MFX better for me.

Anyone have any idea have much this Korg model cost after discount?
From City rite?

Sometimes adjusting your multi efx by listening through the headphones alone, the sound will differ slightly when you plug into the amplifier. Need to tweak a bit to get the same sound you wanted via headphones. Best thing is that you dont need an amplifier and you can practise guitar at night without the neighbours frowning at you the next morning.

There are many ways to plug into the amplifier, some use send and return of the amplifier and some use direct guitar input, whichever way works best to your ear that's the way to go. Different multi efx has different setups. The only problem is that i could be either hard or easy to dial in a good sound depending on your multi efx and experience you've had with it. My boss gt-8 takes a while to get adjusted to and it took me about a weeks time of tinkering before being able to dial in really sweet sounds. But testing out at shop is is not the way to go as you'll need some time to get adjusted it. I'll recommend you to try it out first from friends who has it first before commiting. Else you mgiht end up in regrets. Cheers...

the beauty of the podx3 live defies that 1st claim of yours and they can run thru your computer speakers too.

Sometimes = not all the time
I do understand that not all multieffects are the same, which is why i never generalise the context to my multieffect alone, just giving my opinion based on what im using currently which is a "pain in the a**" boss gt-8.. Thanks for pointing out the difference by the way...

i've read that me50 has a delay time between switching of patches or sumthin? not good for playing live? and bad comments bout the wah....heard bad comments bout ax3000g wah too...

anybody has any views on this?

Actually, that statement is not entirely wrong. In fact, listening to ANY sound through headphones will sound different from listening to an amplifier or speaker. This is plain physics. One has the sound directly pushed into the ears, while the other has the sound affected by the room acoustics.

Also, the headphones and the speakers will have their own set of constructions that will basically "colour" the raw sound, thus giving it a slightly different tone. The difference can be heard even between 2 headphones or 2 amps. It is basically an inevitable and unavoidable result of the sound signal chain.

i think that boss me-50 is good enough..but it depends..

Yes, it depends on the amp you use, because unlike most other multifx in the market, me-50 does NOT have a build in amp emulation. It is made to compliment your amp. So if you use the me-50, your priority for a good amp becomes higher.
