wad effect to get for octave change..

a pitchshifter can detune ur note by 24 chromatic steps over a +/- 1 octave range plus 2-octave up-down capability. note, the detuned note is the wet signal. the original signal from ur guitar will still be picked up and amplified. it still will not help u to get what u were asking for.

eh the original signal will not necessarily be amplified...

I know the pitch shifter (one of the feature in digitech RP350 and a few other multi-effects pedals) has an adjustable 'balance' knob, which can adjust the mix between the original input and the pitch-shifted output. If you want to totally cancel out the original input, you can do so using the 'balance' knob.

yeah i used the wrong word. pardon my error. but the reason why i couldnt come to terms with my boss ps3 is because the pitch shifted notes were slightly delayed no matter what mode i used. so even if i totally cut te dry signal out, the wet signal i get is a delayed, pitched shifted note.

Hi, actually there is such thing to solve your problem, but I will not recommend here as it costs above USD$2500.00. So here are my suggestions, practice and plan your song in advance which key you want to play. I'm not talking about Line6 Variax guitars here.

the whammy preset in the digitech ex-7 does allow you to use only the wet signal (not delayed), so in theory you can use that to play in diff keys on the fly, but the tracking discrepency and loss in tone quality IMO makes it kinda useless for this purpose.

it's much more useful for shrills, wails and other friends-repelling sounds...
