Tube pedals.

nah daniel im not saying everyone has to have a tube amp, but if they want a tube sounding pedal, they have gotta try the real deal so they can get something affordable thats as close to the real deal as their budget allows them rite? i use pedals too and seems the only pedal i could find matching up to the amps i tried was the mi audio crunchbox, but then thats my preference.

That's true too!

Eh, non-tune pedal sounding like a tube amp? hehehe.

I know a person used to create custom pedals in Indonesia, he also can create tube pedals..quite cheap..likely around 300-400. Haven't contact him yet. Probably I can help.

well, do u know the difference between a solid state and a tube amp?

or do u just listen to what other ppl say?

hey man teleplayer, its cool. i understand your search for tone though and if ud like to try a tube amp u can pm me and come over to my place and try.

agreed with dudelove on the "one 12ax7 isn't going to make a difference in tone"

well actually what that happens here is that.. in a tube circuit.. the higher the voltage is running through, the more the tube is being cranked up, the better it will sound..

ADL600 is a mic preamp by presonus, it runs at 600 volts, and thats a really good preamp.. so if your "tube pedal" runs on a 9v battery or 15v adaptor, how can u drive the 12ax7? it doesn't even come close to the real tube sound..

Thats why in a pedal you might want to use a low voltage valve like a 12ae6a, 12fq8 or a 12fm6 that are designed for those size supplies.

a cheap good one.. i think of blackheart little giant and epi valve junior. but these 2 amps are single channeled, just one knob for volume thats all. to get gain, u need to crank the amp by turning up the volume till breakup. its not very practical cos it is still to loud for home use when u crank the amps. and u wont get heavy, creamy distortion. what ppl do is they use pedals to get their distortion/overdrive.
then there's the ibanez valbee. but that 6.5" speaker cmi. if i had the money to spend on all these i'll invest my money elsewhere.

imo, a good solid state amp is really sufficient enough for a home practice amp. eg. roland cube. i love that bloody amp even though i dont have one

BUT THEN, i'm still saving up for a tube amp. hehhe:mrgreen::mrgreen:

The blackheart little giant is the 5watts one is it? Anyway, I don't really use amp's overdrive function.. LOL. I tend to depend on the ds-1 for distortion..

all the amps i mentioned are 5w. blackheart has the option for 5 or 3 watts operation. just changes the headroom of the amp only.
