hongliang

for that price it is value for money. churnz may find that it doesnt suit him. but that's him. you may like, and if you do, you should consider getting it.

I personally think that cymbals are all very unique, cymbals that are of the same make may sound different, for e.g not every HHX crash sounds the same even if they are in the same cat and produce in the same way. Each has its own unique tone after seasoning and aging.

As long as you like the hihats you shld just go for it, but at least test it out one more time before buying it, JUST IN CASE.

Yeah, its alot about if you're satisfied with the sound or not.
cos if you're not satisfied... don't bother.

thanks all for the comments yea?
I just spoke to churnz about the cymbals and I tink I have a pretty good idea about how it performs... will be buying it from him... thanks for all ur suggestions guys... see you on saturday drum hobbist! :D

Haha... saw them in a plastic bag while I was there on Wed... Jen Gek offer to let me try the 21" Ride. Sounds great. I think Bosphorus Turk series can produce somewhere near the same tone. I will made an order and we will make a comparison when I receive it... I believe the weight is medium heavy, right?

hey. with respect to the sound of the cymbals changing. its all about acoustics. notice how ranking is packed with stuff everywhere. if i'm not wrong the cymbal display is near the evans drumheads. think of it this way. when you hit the cymbal, whatever wash and ring will be absorbed and captured by the airspace between the boxes. the thing about ranking is that it simulates somewhat a studio enviroment. you will experience some natural EQ balancing on your cymbal. the trojans may sound nice and tight there. bring it back home and it may sound alot more washy and far brighter. worse still. one of the most horrible and deceptive is when you discover your cymbal sounds "dead". meaning that the tonal characteristics have dulled considerably in the enviroment its in.

So the primary issue is the environment... for a drummer who is closed up to the kit, the drums and cymbals may sound ok... but to the audience who is far off... fantastic! Seems like most of the comments in the forum are blaming on the cymbals...
