Finally met all you guys, twas totally amazing....

thanks for the amazing demos of the tremolono install....

hmm we shld meet more often... :D

Well, I have got more punch, more bass when in hardtail mode. Day and night difference. My RG7621 is SO in danger.

Ah.. lemme see.

GUYS, HEADS UP!

SoulJah,
I think you should add in yoru tutorial, that the Shaft MUST in a perfect perpendicular position. With the T-No in floating mode, you should NOT feel the T-No AT ALL! And the way to get there is to adjust the claw screws till the shaft is perpendicular to the claw.

It takes a bit of adjusting and playing with your tuners, I guess the inexperienced with Floyds will suffer a lot.

am not sure man...my guitar paint is in perfect condition....no chips nothing....eh razr..wanna talk to u more about this...meet up next week sometime?? :D grab a beer....or coffee if ur underage

i;m 19 already.. but i got a curfew.. unless u wanna meet in the afternoon for a beer?? or come down to one of my gigs?

ouch..curfew..hehe afternoon also works..but i guess weekends afternoons are better....
sigh...i started drinking in the afternoon  no hope for me

I got the opportunity to speak to Kevan last night, some tips from the man himself...

If you experience squeaking or rattling it could be due to mostly 2 reasons.

1. Make sure the set screws on the Claw are tight.
2. Make sure the Tailpiece is snug (not too tight) on the trem block.
3. Make sure your T-no shaft is aligned properly.

Once installation is done, you can trim away the 2 plastic rods on the tailpiece, you can do this very simply using a penknife. Also there are several other screws included in the package, use one which is of an appropriate length for the tailpiece which does not stick out.

:)

Christopher.

Boy oh boy.. More punch?! More bass?! So much discussion!! And yet mine is still under maintenance till next week! Bad timing.. Real bad timing..

Vaiyen.. I'll msn you on the LOG thingy. See whether we can work something out or not. :)

[EDIT] 100% of the Tremol-nos have been distributed! Yeah!

Okay, its confirmed.

Hardtail mode = tone gets

1) More bass
2) More authority/punch

As for sustain, YMMV since a well setup floyd will sustain nearly as well as fix bridges.

If you got a nice amp or efx, you can hear how your tone changes with hardtail mode. Splendid!

tighten all nuts for more sustain ...

1 question guys, i tune my guitar wiith all nuts tighten, the tuning will run when 1 release 2 of it for whammy .. is that normal ???

yeap spatans... it will run.

When you tune in hardtail mode, your string tension changes, so when you released to floating mode, it will definately run.

T-No doesn't take away the "pain" of tunning a floyd, just makes it easier...

You gotta tune in floating mode.

o i c ... thanks SC ... ok ... maybe it's also due to that i've change the strings and tension still not stretched out ... i'll return in FL mode then tighten the nuts ... :D

YEAH.
Just restrung the guitar. ITS SO MUCH EASIER!!!
For the experienced, you will be SO happy with the T-No... it holds the whole Floyd up, in hardtail mode, without strings. 8O

However, this is NOT going to be the end of all floyd woes... you still have to balance stuff after you unlock the hardtail mode.

However, restringing just got easier. 8)

yeah.. gotta tune in floating mode... but yeah.. with the right settings, the sustain is better than my lp already...

Alrighty!
Time for an UPDATE.

Those of you who ordered your Tremol-nos, lets give some feed back.. draw backs... quirks... bonuses... etc etc....

For me, here are some quirks...

1) The extra bass/mids from using the T-No in fixed bridge mode actually DOES matter even with distortion... I found my highest gain tones actually getting a touch too bassy/muddy for liking.

2) Even with the T-no disengaged, full floating mode, I can still feel the T-No there... I can't flutter as much as I like anymore, doesn't flutter actually... this is actually making me kind of want to ditch it.

Any more?

Hey all, here's what i think of it. The increase in bass n mids are much to my liking when i use the bridge pickup. which is what i use often. it makes my tone fuller while still being able to achieve nice harmonics. however, as shredcow stated, i do feel the same wayas him when im using my neck pickup. it starts becoming very muddy. after installing the tremelno, ive had to change my main equalizer settings to compromise between the 2 pickups.

shredcow, maybe you could try adjusting the part thats locked onto the sustaining block. shift it a little. at first i could also feel the tremelno even in full floating mode and yea it didnt flutter at all. but if you manage to adjust the alignment perfectly, you wont be able to feel it, and your trem is back to normal. it takes awhile to get the perfect alignment, i did quite a few try and errors. yea.
