hey guyz, any idea how do i train my voice to hit that high notes , esp in Steelheart - She's Gone. "Forgive Me Girl" . I really wanna know how. im into singing now. so i will entertain any advice.

guyz pls help me. and can i ask? why will my voice suddenly be gone when i hit those high notes. ? my friend told me to breath my mouth and use my diaphragm for breathing. but im nt sure abt that. he says when u feel that yr lungs are on pressure it means that u are using yr diaphragm to breathe. is it real? im nt sure.

okay... i find this method quite useful but quite painful though.

Get a bucket of water big enough for you to submerge your head into. Submerge your head into the water and shout as loud and as long as you can until you are out of breath. Do use your hands to cover your nose while doing so. Do it only twice a week and do not do it repeatedly until you lose your voice. If you feel tired, stop. Don't do it the next day too. Rest at least for a day or two before doing it again. At least I think it works for me.

Expand your vocal chords and strengthen it too i think. that is what i did. i can't even sing Better Man last time, but now I can reach it quite comfortably. After you do that exercise, try to rest your voice the whole day, try not to talk at all, if needed use your diaphragm to help you with your talking without straining your throat at all. Try it at your own risk.

high notes...
its all about the breathing.

there are two ways of singing.
one is through the stomach/belly/diaphragm and another is the throat.
throat is how you get those falsetto. really high notes.

a really good singer is one who can do both.
which one are you?

lols im nt sure which one am i. but i feel that singing by using head voice is better. but now im trying to get my throat to let the high notes out. and i dont know how to. and i really need some help.
and are u sayying that im doing gt with my diaphragm but not gd at my throat ? how do i train my throat by others ways ? not doing the water thingy.

one way is to clear your throat of phlegm.
every morning, before you brush your teeth, trying holding your breath and drink 600ml of plain water. thats a whole small bottle.

its okay if you cant finish it in one breath, hold it as long as you can.
it'll also helps to keep you hydrated for the day. :D

you can also clear your throat by gurgling every morning.
the vibrations helps loosen your vocal chords.

ook. ermm thanks. so my vocal cords will be loosen everytime i gurgle ?

im trying to hit that high notes in Steelheart - She's Gone

if i could do that. im seriously happy :)

maye loosen is not the right word.
hmmm...flexible? basically it wont be so 'stiff'.
if that makes any sense.
haha...

hey there.

it's all about training and hard work man.
try this : sing up a scale, and see at which note ur real voice stops and ur falsetto takes over. then, to improve ur range, mix ur real voice and your falsetto, and over time this will improve ur range. this takes quite some time to achieve, months to maybe years ? i've been singing for 4 years and my range has only gone up like to a F or G ? =/

another piece of advice is to refrain from using ur throat, and rather support with ur diaphragm, unless what ur singing is those kinda screamo kinda stuff.

and do warm up ur vocals before u attempt to sing.

that's all i can offer yo. good luck ! (:

the 'rubber band' method always works.....

arnel pineda the filipino guy who now fronts journey recommends it.

What on earth is this 'rubber band' method? It has nothing to do with tying something up, is there? I used to hear this joke last time and I have no idea what they were talking about 0.o

yes it is.... me & aquanaut ..in our youth... used to haze and rag our newbie singers in our band this way. The band wud grab our singer(s), strip them and do the deed. After that, we notice a substancial increase in vocal range in them.

This method wont work if your singer is female though - plus you'd prolly get arrested for outrage of modesty -so take heed ppl ...
