toughest riffs you've ever come across??

for bass so far it's YYZ by rush.

for guitar not so sure yet, just started.
any recommendations?
HAHA

hahaha trivium i cant be bothered to learn anymore. many songs are too hard and fast like anthem, washing away. ill just listen.

Threat Signal's Counterbalance. Machine Head's Imperium and Clenching the Fists of Dissent. all bloody crazy

One of them, I guess for many, would be Dragon Force's Through the Fire and Flames! Totally insane song, even though power metal isn't my cup of tea. :o

anthem's like the slowest intro riff trivium's ever made loh...

its actually quite fun to play trivium, especially the songs which are not really heard, like light to the flies, the deceived, ascendancy all that they all have riffs which boost skill when practiced.

SRV - Little Wing

His take on it had so much feel my eyes can tear up just listening to it.. IMO, the toughest riffs aren't the fastest ones, but the one with the most emotion..

Peace..

Opening riff for Blitzkrieg by Yngwie Malmsteen. The only riff that EVER made me decide to come back and try again later.

Looking for guitarist/drummers to form glam rock band.

If you have listened to 70's & 80's rock, and keen to form a band.
Pls notify me.
If band is formed, we'll be playing classic rock mostly frm the 70's and 80's.
What's more, we'll be promoting vintage songs and making it a new genre in the Singapore scene.

once again, do notify me if u know anyone who's skilled in electric guitar/bass/drums/keyboard and is interested in forming a band regardless of genre. Thanks =)

ahh true.metal doesnt dominate everything.neither do metal bands come up with super hard riffs.bet not many local metal players can play blues.so to add on to that.id say Cliffs of Dover by Eric Johnson though i dont really know what genre does he fall into.blues?

What a waste.. I'd be VERY interested to play classic rock & roll stuff.. But my kinda playing doesn't suit that as a guitarist.. :???:

Anyways, wrong section..

Cliffs of Dover ain't really blues.. I'd place Eric Johnson under the same category as Neil Zaza, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, etc.. Shredders bonanza! Haha..

I mentioned I'm a guitarist.. :mrgreen::mrgreen:

But truth of the matter I got A's in one months time.. So yeah.. My own band is on the halt at the moment cause of that..

Extreme's He-Man Woman Hater opening riff
-after a year, ya I did it haha.

Cliffs of Dover chorus part hard to nail the proper tone+timing
-I can play it but doesnt sound good.

Extreme Midnight Express acoustic riff
-Im not even going attempt to play it.
