toughest riffs you've ever come across??

drowned and torn asunder is okay, except when it comes to the dual solo after matt's solo, woah.....lovelovelovelove

honestly, matt and corey are both talented and really good at dual guitar work and switching lead and rhythm duties time to time. they're like the Michael and Rudolph Schenker of metal, which may be the reason why im working closely with my other guitarist from my band to achieve around that standard. its always nice to riff it out with your other axe player rather than just shredding it out alone.

How about:

anything by
Necrophagist
Meshuggah
Sikth
for metal

Solo guitar:
Jason Becker's Perpetual Burn and most of that album
A lot of Vai's stuff like building the church
Guthrie Govan's stuff
Dave Martone's Demon Fetal Harvest
Dimeola's Race with the devil on the highway...

Feel kinda stuff:
High Hopes solo
manhattan by eric johnson
Vai's feel on songs like The Animal
Marty Friedman's touch on most of his megadeth solos...
Lenny by Stevie
