tone shaper - i need it again

i used to own a Hartke Bass Attack, but I sold it off coz I bought a HA3500 amp with a good tube pre-amp sound that I like, so I thought I don't need the Bass Attack anymore, even though i really like the pedal.

fast forward, now, I think I need it again! coz the sound I'm getting at the practice studio is not what I like and no matter how I adjust the combo amp settings I can't get the sound I want.

SO I was thinking, ok should i go buy back the Bass Attack pedal? I know exactly how to get teh sound i want from it....

or should I try out the sansamp VT bass pedal?

on another note on the VT bass, don't you find the selling price SGD$399 overkill? I would expect SGD$250 MAX on this pedal.... $399 is just grossly overpriced!

bring your own head to the studio la. Haha.

the vt bass is awesome for it's dist/od sounds. If you're just looking for a nice tube saturated tone then the bass attack would be a better choice. Cheaper as well.

ok it's settled then, I'm going to buy back the Hartke Bass Attack.... remind me NOT to sell off this awesome pedal again thanks! hahaha :)

wahahhaha buy all, easy to say! :)

VT Bass at SGD$399 is a total rip off, IMHO, considering the listed US price is USD$149.

very very versatile. goes all the way from a very close replication of tubey SVT goodness to Nine Inch Nails type of distortion without losing any low end.

The 3 band EQ is what's missing in most preamps. A little turn of the knobs does a lot already. i almost never go beyong 90 deg from centre.

However I use it mainly as a drive pedal. I don't see the need for it to be used as a tone shaper because I prefer the natural sound of the bass and amp. Unless of course if I'm running through a really crappy studio amp. But I've got my aguilar outboard pre to take care of that.

hi all, i'm re-united with my bass attack again, ah... good old good sound that i like, now i can bring it to the rehersal studio and get the sound i want.

i will not sell this pedal off again.
