tany,

Power collection man!!! Your pedaltrain pro is already running out of space!

For the sake of open sharing to benefit other musicians, I would suggest not to use the acoustic simulator. Get an acoustic guitarist to join yer band. Or just bring a decent acoustic guitar so you could swop between electric and acoustic guitars. Or just play a clean electric guitar sound perhaps with a touch of chorus.

I have tried a few and so far have not found an acoustic simulator that can replace reasonably good acoustic guitars yet. Perhaps there's a good simulator I missed. Anyone care to share?

perhaps u shld list out those u have tried already..

Boss AC-2 (Used with telecaster bridge pickup, it gave the closest to real acoustic guitar sound I could get. But in my opinion, not good enough to do the job of the real thing.)

The acoustic sounds in:-
POD XT Live
Boss ME-50
Roland Cube 60

The acoustic guitars I use are Yamaha APX900 and Cort SFX-10. Not high end. But good sound.

joshuak: yes a real acoustic player would be the best, but that isnt the case because of the lack of musicians stepping foward to serve.

its really hard to find guys who can paly to come forward and use their talents to praise GOD..i use my multi-fx for worshipping..if in small youth meetings..maybe my ovation would do.. Roland JC for cleans would be nice..

I see...

Where I come from, we have quite a number of guitarists and keyboardists. But bass players and drummers are quite near extinction and are thus highly sought after species.

:P

Btw, DJThugs. There's a guy on Luthermusic forum selling the Roland JC120 for abt $700-800. U might wanna grab it.

Hey does anyone knows Nigel Hendroff of Hillsong set up?

Will distortion pedals be better for praise or overdrive?

I also need some comments on which wah pedal to buy, a dunlop cry baby or BOSS PW-10 V Wah which i just saw at swee lee today, it had many other wah effects inside compared to other wah pedals...

THANKS!!

why not use a electric with a piezo bridge? it probably will be the closest you will get to an acoustic sound. but remember, the crowd probably wouldnt have many musicians or guitarists so it could be easy to fool then even with a digital pedal.

Nigel uses more of his rack for live Hillsong recordings. U can try searching youtube for the video of the Guitar Workshop from the Mighty To Save DVD. He does introduce the gear that he uses for live recordings.

Hope this helps, God bless

Hi, can you guys recommend an overdrive pedal to use for worship? Those that sound like planetshakers and hillsons

Well actually there's a whole range of stuff that you could use, and in the first place Planetshakers and Hillsongs are rather different in music styles. Planetshakers are in a way more heavy? But personally a good choice would be yes, a BD-2, an OD-3 and a modded Rat to give you a good edge between the overdriven sounds and the heavier ones.

Hmmm.........interesting. My take is that no matter what the music, it shldn't be too distracting, but shld serve 2 accentuate the lyrics and the meaning of them. As for an OD...........BD2 or SD1 maybe? Personally, i use a multi-efx. So much more configurable(sry lousy spelling). My pro friend still uses a PodXT connected to an FBV Shortboard+a Jekyll and Hyde Visual Overdrive+Boss DS1 Modified by Mike frm Standard Value. His guitar is a Line6 Variax 700 and he plugs straight into the PA. It sounds excellent, not too heavy and his playing skills serve to bring out the intense meaning in many songs. When he riffs, it's just simple stuff, nothing too showy, just 2 fill in 4 the parts where the worship leader wants to pray, say something, etc etc. I'm not experienced in the world of pedals; for the price of all the pedals mentioned u can prob get an XT Live. Sure, analog junkies may still say it sounds digital even though the excellent point-to-point modelling technology is inside its durable metal shell. But ultimately, its the spirit and the worshipping of God that matters, not the gear or skill. Mu 2 cents worth. Hope it helps.
