Tighter sound

How do I acheive this? Is there any pedals out there that can give this effect? My sound is too muddy.

Post a clip of your playing and maybe some of the guys here may help. Otherwise, its like finding a needle in a haystack.

opps sorry about that...I use the MT-2->EH-2->dano eq->PC. I have a boss compressor but I am also new to it and not too sure how to use it effectively

Edit:the dano eq is set to the "smiley" pattern

can't access the download link, something's up.

Anyway, you are going direct without a speaker sim? Interesting.
I hope you know what you are doing and not following some silly urban legend.

You are comlpaining about muddy sound when line in? Or when playing thru amp?

What's the setting on the MT-2? On the EQ?

Funny, I've asked my friend to try and download it earlier and it was working fine.

I don't get that urban legend thing :smt102 , I just find that this sounds better than going thru my vox pathfinder 10 first.

Anyway my eq setting is on V shape and the MT2, the high and low knobs are set at 3 while middle set at 1 and mid freq at 9. Waiting for ppl to hear it to see if the sound is actually normal.

meaning its perfectly normal? Is there any kind of pedal out there that can make it sound more refine?

tighter clean tone?
tighter overdriven tone?
tighter distortion?
at room volume?
at jamming volume?

there wont be any pedals to tighten the sound. It doesnt exist, imho.

It doesn't sound that muddy, but I can't hear clearly cos there's too much fuzz, probably due to the fact no amp/speaker simulation was used. Btw, the 'urban legend' he was refering to is the point abt connecting your effects directly to line-in with no additional software emulation for amp/speakers. Most of the time you end up with something really fuzzy, as in your case.

You might want to specify whether it sounds muddy when you play normally on your Vox(not plugged into your PC) or when recording. As it is, I don't see why it should be that bad since you have an EQ. If adjusting your MT and EQ doesn't work, try adjusting your amp as well.

i will tighten up my hole and you will never see light again :D

...go easy on the mt2 gain and mid freq ...actually the nasally mids are quite annoying !!

and play tight

your eq pedal. the settings are in the smiley face pattern? try doing a wave sorta pattern then with the mids slightly higher than the bass.
