they say that in the army...

you dont need SOC to go ocs.. no longer a requirement.. if ur platoon top 5. most likely ur set for OCS.. unless you screw up very very badly for sit test..

wah ur soc training damn xiong.. For our SOC. we didnt practise going through the obstacles so many times, because most of the time we'll be practising push ups... :) The SOC test was the only time we ran the full 1.5km. and of course during strength training. But well.. i passed!

for me now, dont think i can go OCS.. Dont wanna go sispec, if i end up there. i'll try my best to crossover to OCS.

tonight i've to go back to tekong for guard duty :( .. and i'll see the new PTP batch coming in..

It is good to know that there are Softies here wanting to go to OCS during their NS stint, good positive attitude, good luck to you guys.

Cheers

Hey fellow ORd-ers, and fellow "those-who-areabt-to-don-the uniforms"!!

Its interesting to see SOFTIES talking abt the NS days.

Mine was kinda "fun" and definitely memorable.

Why the "fun"?

its bcos I everyday sit inside aircon office and play warcraft 3, CS, The SIMS, GTA3, GTA Vice City or any other games that I cld bring in.

Sounds cool huh.

But that was before SISPEC shifted to PLC. Now no more already.. HEHEHEHEHE!!

Basically, my NS life is full of CBL except for some conference meetings with the COs and the rest of the officers in SISPEC.

And yah.. I'm an infantry too.

Went through BMT at Leopard. Winners of Inter school Games.

Went through BSLC (Charlie Coy) and lastly ASLC(Golf Coy).

Obviously I was disappointed went I was posted to SISPEC again after ASLC. But it turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

Why not? Can opt to stay-in or stay-out depending on my mood.:P

Get to work with the officers who definitely had to be nice to me when they want something from me.8)

I'm in-charged of the Lesson Formats thats conducted in the SISPEC and every lesson plan has to go through me to be edited/checked and of course passed before i can let the Co and CI to sign for approval.

It doesnt matter if the officer's rank is 2WO or 1WO or MWO, if I say not passed means not passed. In other words, a lot of shoulder rubbing is involved here.

So far, I never kena any "extra" b4.

Me and the RSM very close lah.

How i wished that there will be ppl experiencing this kind of NS life.

my army life was quite jia lart, i am a men(pte)... chiong moutain until siao, some more before atec & during atec, my unit CO realize my platoon can fight super well, make us battlion point... super siong...

well my IPPT wasn't that gd, i onli manage to get sliver, my SOC timming was 8.40, but the fastest in my platoon is 6.31... i got my marksman and $200 shiok...i got it twice(marksman), was given the chance to shoot for SSC(Singapore Shooting Conti) but i was voided because i miss one selection due to my OC asking me to go for something else... haiz...

I hv my memories, if i were to say my whole 2yrs of experience i think it will be a one full page of words.. haha... but the toughness is definately there.... but in army it's not the physical that realli counts, it's the mental... it's always mind over body...

well for ORD personnal i believe we are all happy ppl now... haha..

well for those for abt to enter army.... gd luck, 2yrs will flyby very fast...
my word of advice?? Endure Endure Endure...

GD LUCK PPL

anybody went through the 4 weeks physical training exercise ... any experience u wan2 share ... do u get to go back home b4 the 4 weeks if you pass ur napfa test there ..

Yeah u get to get home if u pass ur Ippt test, they call it Ippt in there.

NS...Still remember my BMT SOC, it was more like a tekan session by the f***king PTI, still remember his name..hahahh...My section called him Monster, yes he was that scary. hahha.. And those gym sessions where u are not allowed to slam the weights, but somehow there will always be some idiot who wiil slam the weights and the PTI will tekan us.

Still remember my vocation training as a Combat Engineer. I was in the middle of nowhere, 2am in the morning, diggin a f**kin minefield. And asked myself :"What the F am i doing here?" Before i could think of an answer, my trainning officer asked me the same qns: "What the F are u doing there? " NS..brings a tear to my eye...

talking abt PTI... my PTI was in the ch8 "ming xing ou xiang" he was in the top10, but the 1st person to kana kick out from top10.... during the ORD parade, he came with sin huey(project superstar) to watch us.... and i took a photo with both my PTI & sin huey... hahaha
