THERE IS NO ONE PEDAL TO NAIL ANY GUITARIST'S TONE.

heh, don't get me wrong bro. I'm merely trying to get my point across thats the point. 8) seriously.. "so, can the ds1 nail steve vai's tone?" "can I mod my metal zone to nail John Petrucci's tone on Erotomania?" seriously folks.. If there were a particular pedal or combination of pedals to nail, or get into the ball park of a particular guitarist's tone, everyone would have gotten it. what many people fail to realise how much resources these guitarists have invested into crafting their unique tone, be it in the many many racks or even the combination of guitars, amps, miking or heck, even draping a cloth onto the amp. oh well, im just rambling anyway.

well any pro's tone is a v carefully crafted one and it's abit hard to match to what you hear on their cd's coz of the amt of stuff they use and the stuff they do behind the console so. yep.

this gets my vote for a LOL

i wonder has anybody else started a thread with a rhetorical qn?

well to threadstarter, yes, but, it doesn't stop us from trying :D

THANK YOU NICKYSEOW.... THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this have been one of my pet peeves from day one.

eh eh come share ur smashing-pumpkins-in-a-box pedal!

is yours the one scheduled for the 1st week of December?
damn... my head... arrrggghhh....

Unfortunately, nicky, despite your good intention, this thread will ultimately, do little.

Its the way of ... life... its a cycle.

In a few days or weeks, it will be gone, forgotten, and you will have people coming up to ask the same questions with the same mindset you are trying to discourage.

Not everyone like me, no life, sit in a dark corner, strum guitar and surf tonefactor all night long loh.

You'll find guitarists with $60 budget and want to nail rack-effect tone.

to edder : yep thats me! plus the sticker! haha. but if you wanna silkscreen it, please please please do! actually, could you silkscreen the angel logo on it?

to shredcow : yeah, I get your point, and agree wholeheartedly man. actually theres more to tonefactor, there's the infamous hcfx, and tgp that should be more then enough i guess :D any im actually quite curious about rack effects.. take for example the mesa/boogie triaxis. to what extent is it really useful to get, say high gain lead tones that e.g a road king can get from guitar->amp?

but on a serious note, the 50 dollar to nail rack effects tone? :butthead: sad but true.. a dime a dozen.. haha

"You know its sad but true!"

You get what you pay for. Used to believe in "copying" other people's tone. :P Nickyseow you hit the nail on the head!

then again you'll find guitarists who arent willing to buy even a cheap multi effect pedal and wanna sound like steve vai through studio amps like smarvo.

I think its okay to do that Eugen3.

We all go thru that... thats our inspiration to play... in our younger days, ears underdeveloped, concepts of tone all warped, thats what eggs us on...

Its just that we... older folk... know it liao, to a certian extent, and wanna teach the newbies, but ... tone is osmething you can't really teach without experiencing it. To a certian extent.
