Any proper way to dispose cheap guitar and amps that is no longer working?

Hi,
I have bought a SX electric guitar pack over 10 years ago. Now that is no longer working and is not worth repairing, I'm wondering if there is a proper way to dispose it.
I've contacted cash converters but they do not accept faulty items.
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated
