I like Marty Friedman's tone on Loudspeaker... the more I listen to it, the nicer it gets. His tone on earlier albums was horrid IMO but this album, man...
I find using a mahogany bodied guitar with thick, saturated drive (bordering on fuzz) pedals can cop the tone when comparing mp3s.
But heck. The variety of tones he uses on that album is quite mind boggling to me... all share roughly the same characteristics of a fuzz-ish, saturated distortion but so much variety. Some cliche sounds on the album too lah...
Isn't the JP lead tone like... his neck pup. Just get some glassy fat neck pup and use lots of gain, pretty much there in an mp3 sense.
