The Strokes anybody?

Hey, i'm a huge fan of The Strokes and Nick Valensi is like the coolest guy on the planet.
Just wanted to know if anybody here listens to them cos usually when I ask people about the strokes, they'll say they heard of them but never heard their songs. -_-"
Come on, they're the saviors of Rock' n Roll!

Personally, my favourite song is Under Control from Room on Fire.
What about you guys?
And what do you think sets them apart from the rest?

they are cool, but they aren't doing anything new really. they are just taking cues from the past, in particular the 70s New York scene.

but then again, i realy like their sound.

One of my top 5 favorite bands. All 3 albums are heavily rotated on my itunes and ipod. I love how Nick and Albert plays super simple riffs or notes yet when put together, they compliment each other so well.

Favorite songs? Trying Your Luck -Is This It, I Can't Win - Room On Fire, Vision of Division - First Impressions of Earth.

Apparently new album will be out soon. Cant wait!

I like GfC, but the rest of Como Te Llama sounds bland to me. But i kinda like spooky couch even though its repetitive. Haha.

Amazingly, I was listening alot to the strokes about last year or 2 years back, and just this week I fell in love all over again with their sound, and now this thread comes up!

The Strokes is great. Love the bassline for Juicebox. I like you only live once, the other side, the end has no end, reptilia, etc etc.

i have to agree this band has got one of the best sounds for the last 2 years. they just sound great together and the live performances are good. Good to see many strokes fans here. I was so heavy into them before and like someone said here, i fell in love with them all over again this week and all 3 albums are playing in my car now.

Fave song = there's smthing special about the song "Someday". simple and yet i cant get enough of it plus the video rocks...

lol..yeah strokes are awesome . the feel of their songs is great . Its fun to cover their songs
