My favourite Malay rock band is Belantara. Anybody remember them? They have 3 CDs...and I was so lucky tyo have found their "Best Of" Cd is KL some years back.

Who got this search album? Called "Di Pintu Sepi" , released around the 90's. This album was release for a week before the ecord company ask topull it off world wide. I think got problem with this album..and since then its never been released again... so its a MYSTERY search album

Hello there slapshock _If Im not wrong Album "Di pintu sepi" was actually a compilation of unreleased Search songs pre recorded from some of their previous albums. M.Nasir (The composer/producer) was unhappy about the album because he felt that some of the songs were incomplete. If you listen to the song "Di pintu sepi" carefully the intro/riffs is similar to their hit song "Isi dan kulit" from their first album Cinta buatan Malaysia. Anyway I enjoy this thread.Kudos to all for the effort. Those photoshots really bring back memories from a time long forgotten...... :lol:

Skid Row? I doubt Skid Row was around when the Malay Rock scene was blooming and at its peak.

dude, when the malay rock scene END, then the people heard about Skid Row but still in it was in America only...

you can say that they were loudness wannabe's but definately not skid row...

oh yeah i think skid row only came out in 1989. den perhaps van halen? or Poison influences?

Loudness is cool though, I like the lead guitarist. Was probably the best in Asia at that time.

Ok Mat Rock here :wink: . My guitar influence comes from Dokken, WhiteSnake, Gary Moore, Kee Marcello (Europe), Ronnie James Dio (Vivian Campbell), Zakk Wylde. I love 80's Rock. But I listen to current guitarists too like Andy Timmons, Steve Vai. My favorite local guitarist would have to be Man Kidal and Hillary. 8)
