The Official 2010 FIFA World Cup Thread

being part german that did piss me off a bit. Giving both the Serbs and Germans cards so easily in the first half made them afraid of doing challenges in the second half

So much tension..
Matches aside... leave the bad ref and bad play behind. Here are some of the nicer bits in the stands.

The Babes of World Cup 2010!

I think the pic of the Korean chica, is from the World Cup when it was held in her country. Same for the Japanese one.

Tsk junkiemanxl ahhhhh................now we know why you watch WC already. Heh heh heh

Well, i guess Spain and Villa answered their critics, with a 2-0 win over Honduras, with Villa getting both goals. I'm glad they finally got their act together.

Predz23, just to clarify my issue wasn't with the ball flying faster per se, but more of its flight characteristics. I actually had a chance to try it once, when some rich friend brought it to a kickabout to showoff. Even here in Singapore it moves around a lot, the difference is painfully noticeable. Those who've ever kicked a beach ball before will understand, it curves and swerves like crazy. The fact that it is lighter doesn't help either. Sure, a ball that's designed to fly aerodynamically is a welcome one, but i don't think one that's too unpredictable in terms of its flight characteristics is. Yeah.

loldude333: dun like that lah... sometimes lose money stress and need to destress.. hehehe

eieio: Naise..... " this aerodynamic flight characteristic? " <--- i don't know bro... can't see with that much mosiac... hehehe

Must keep it clean or the tao kay will come in and shut us all down.

:D

Aha well Adidas said the ball was already tested by many leagues and even used for the African cup. It might have had different logos but it was still the same ball, with no comment. Also the ball isnt lighter FIFA states the ball must weigh 420g-455g (or something like that) and the Jabulani is 440g

Hmmmm okok i'm just basing my comments on personal experience man. Perhaps you're right the altitude is affecting the ball. I'm no pro so i won't know (maybe pro balls make me play even worse than i usually do hahaha). I do recall some African players commenting on the flight of the ball being rather erratic. I don't know man, but i do see players miscontrolling the ball, and those sublime long passes out to the flanks always running long because the ball bounces at a gentler angle. That in itself doesn't make for a good WC but perhaps i should have reserved judgement on the ball.

Aiya junkiemanxl..............destress by looking at girls exclusively lah.................hehehehehe. Instead of combining them with WC football which in all honesty has not been good, plus its the source of your betting problems. Okok i better stop here else Mr James ban me.

And remember the english are pointing fingers at the germans saying they were able to use the ball the earliest of all teams allowing an unfair advantage lol

Sure man. So the Germans let the Serbs beat them to prove that them using the ball earlier gave them no advantage whatsoever right? Typical English, blaming something else when they just cannot perform. Next they're gonna say the Argentines got unfair advantage because the Jabulani was used in the Argentinian 1st Div hence the team has had 1 whole season to adapt. And that the US also had that time to adapt because it was used in the 2009/2010 MLS season. What nonsense lah.

england alot of excuses one. if duno how to swim, dun blame the swimming trunks.

Ever since Predz23 posted i've been trying to remember all the excuses the England team has given. I still haven't finished.

^^^ +1111111111 to that. Individually they're ok. Collectively they look like sunday league players. I think they've got the same problem as England, but at least there aren't excuses, or at least not so many.

actually england overrate themselves. why go into the world cup thinking they are among the favourites? this kinda mentality will only end up in disappointment with themselves because in the 1st place, they are not championship material to begin with. they should adopt a humble mentality like the minnow football team that they are.
