well, the level u hang ur guitar does not determine the genre...

once u play an electric guitar,everyway u do is ur own way...rockstars dun have rules...

the level u hang is based on ur comfort...and the accuracy of ur fingers with that height..what if u play a high guitar...and feel a strain on ur elbows and shoulder after each session? and how about missing notes when u're guitar too low?

its definitely up to ur style of play...and ur comfort most importantly...though people with low guitars usually amaze me...and i have my guitar at my waist level...

John Petrucci wears a high guitar and there he is shredding the fretboard off...

Malmsteen doesnt wear his guitar too low either..

Tom Morello wears a high guitar but plays alternative rock...

all matters on how comfortable you are i but my bass pretty high cause i feel comfortable playing some people say i look a lil stupid putting it so high? i don't bother cause its comfortable

How you hang your guitar, usually is a good indication of what kind of player you are... usually.

Higher usually more lead orientated.
Lower usually more rhythm orientated.

generally,asians hav smaller palms n shorter arms..so so we find it difficult wen we try to be slash..slash hangs his guitar at tt height but he's still so damn comfy with it..

how low u hang ur ax dont really matter but i think if some1 hangs his/her ax high n jump it's look real corny..

for me i hang in such a way tt the middle(the pickups area) covers my groin..in case some1 wants to treat me like dimebag n miss.. :? ..

When I fry my rice. I tend to like my wok 1 metre above the ground. Using a metal ladle. Some ppl tend to like to use the wooden ladle. It's more natural they say. Apparently, the wood can give it a more natural taste.

Personally, I think it's very poseur-ish lah. Macam Martha Stewart hor...

it's just a matter of comfort la. comfort < everything else
say you're a bassist. if you feel uncomfortable too wearing your bass too high. then lower the strap. and vice versa. to me strap dont matter as long as the music's good.
