The Latest Guitar-Gear Thread.

From the clips, the SFT is more to the lines of 'Super Fuckin' Toneful' !

and that dog in the clips happens to look very very similiar to mine.

does the SFT seem to have a built in flange?

still lovin my DLS man. its a stacking monster. getting some of the best tones i've ever heard just by stacking my drives. lovely.

Ibanez TS808HW Tubescreamer

The Ibanez TS808HW Hand Wired Tube Screamer is an all point to point screamer wired with Mogami cable. Extremely limited run.

This is worth buying if only for the investment. I find the tones note really doing anything that you can't get with other ODs today.

I'd still love to own one though... Spent too much $$$ this month... I'll have to pass on this for now.

seems really interesting.. just that i have no idea how using an echoplex as a preamp sounds

^ I don't get it. Is it a transparent boost? Does it add layers to your sound? Delay? Is it bad that I want it anyway?

HHAHAHHA thats exactly how i feel. i dont really know what it does, the description sounds cool, cos it has the word echoplex and jimmy page, and somehow i want it!

and they spelled page wrongly. or is there someonw by the name of paige who uses an echoplex

its the preamp sction of an echoplex, seems like a direct copy of another one ive seen...

uh,.. can't rmb off hand. argh.

heh, marketing is king!

With famous geetarers and name of classic effect(but but, its an echo..) even if its just a boost circuit(minimal components), we will still love it.

it can be any other effect, but with names and description, suddenly the status will be elevated to new height!

It's quite a unique take on overdriven sounds as it simulates a very unlikely amp that players dream about, the ampeg SVT. I myself haven't heard of an ampeg amp yet. But from the demos, it sounds promising though i'm sure youtube doesnt represent it fully well.

you know whats the downside to this thread?
the many comments us softies make will make this thread awfully long and it would be hard actually finding the gear featured, well since the thread is still in its infant stage now its kinda okay, but later on.. haha

kudos to Phil though, great initiative bro

Haha, thanks for the compliment. I guess nothing is perfect, but I think as long as there are regular updates with pictures, it shouldn't be too hard to locate what's new.

Here's something that caught my attention.

MXR Fullbore Metal Distortion M-116

The new for 2009 MXR Fullbore Metal M-116 Distortion unleashes viscous metal tones in compact case. If you are looking for over the top distortion with sweepable mids and a built in gate the MXR Fullbore M-116 Metal Distortion was made for you

Introducing the new Barber Half Gainer

The Barber Half Gainer is the long awaited dual version of our very popular LTD ultra clear low gain overdrive. The Half Gainer adds new features for enhanced live performance. There is a new "mid character" control that simultaneously adjusts the midrange content and shifts the EQ curve to compliment the amount of midrange added or cut! We worked with pedal artist Bronson Wagner to achieve a very upscale graphic and paint presentation. Bronson tastefully applied Art Deco styling on a rich silver vein powder coat, for beauty with significant durability. The sounds that emanate from our new overdrive instrument range from subtle purrs, to an authoritative sweet grind. The Midrange Character control allows you to set the tone control to a nearly flat EQ balance for BIG chords that match your clean tone magnificently, or dial in a sophisticated fatness to thicken your single note lines to perfection.

Price: $169.95

man, i love this thread.

doesn't matter if it gets too long, because when you do read it, just read it a few pages before and after, and you'll get the most current updates.

nice.:)
