Again, much appreciate if people refrain from posting stupid comments :D

Nice colour... wonder if they're doing anything else other than the finish...

They'll change every year... Can't wait to check out a full body shot of that color... Thinking of getting a Bongo next...

yeah... good bass. but i'm not a bassist, so if I were to buy one just for recording's sake, I'll probably go for a Fender Jazz bass as a basic unit...

or a Stingray... heheheh...

Tried the SR, don't like the feel of it actually... But then again, I've tried the maple board only, kinda bright for my taste... After the first note on the Bongo, I was totally in love with it!

Anyway, I told my drummer I was getting a Bongo, he was like "get an LP, they make very good percussions..."
lolz... drummers... sheesh...

Not too late at all, dude! Welcome to the club and show us what you got!

Maybe Musicman should be cheaper to reach out to the mass to get a higher rating huh?.. haha.

Thanks!
You owe it to yourself to go and try one over at Sinamex. :D

Whitestrat:
Yup, the body's slightly larger than the normal JP...

Can't say much about the neck, I can't remember how an unfinished JP neck felt like, it's been ages since I played one. But will AB it with leecs' one of these days.

It's not so much the body I felt. It's the neck. It seems less blockish compared to the JP6. There was one in the whop, so I ABed it. I know the F1 sounds tighter, but less punch in chordings. More of a soloist guitar.

im gona drop by Sinamex this weekend to try it!!!

So whitestrat, you prefer the old version or the new version?

I still love that forearm scoop... And I don't see the need for the extra cavity space for the lower horn. I'm comfortable with the old version. Just wish it came in alder or something else rather than basswood...

The lower horn is good for me, I need the extra space when I'm playing on the higher frets coz of some stretches I do (think Rusty Cooley). I remembered my wrist kept on hitting the lower horn on the original JP, I still do hit it on my RG occasionally.

Keep in mind that this guitar is JP's guitar, he needs the extra space; what JP wants JP gets... lol... Note that when JP is doing sweeps in the higher registers (width of 6-8 frets), his fretting hand is in a classical possition, that means JP's hand need all the extra space. Kinda hard to describe, but it's something like your palm needs to be in front of the fretboard rather than the normal position of supporting the neck (under the neck), and because of this position, the narrower horn on the previous JP will sometimes get in the way. This is further emphasized by Rusty himself, although he took a different approach on his Dean by making the cutaway deeper rather than altering the horn.

:)

Yup!! the lower horn thing was mentioned in a vidz which he intorduced on his new BFR. I still like my current JP unless i've tried the BFR, then i'll compare.

Of course! But what I meant is that I simple find that the old JP6 design works for me... no need to spend $$$ on the F-1... heng ah...
