The Ernie Ball Music Man Thread

Good try. Not a DD2. Like the previous DD's martini inlay more - how the hell did I let the AL DD1 GO away the last time?...

This one more special. Its a BFR.

Depreciating USD - time to strike.

Crappy closeup shot

Thank kyyuu!

Very good craftmanship for this one. I strongly recommend to anyone who intent to get one. Be it a bfr neck or not. Dont wait till next year's production model - the name "Reflex" for the production model just dont sound right to me (but got more color then..)

I will put up better pics, shoot with my sony, and when I transport it to my exisiting residence. Guitar still at momma place where she took delivery...

I know where that is!!!!:twisted::twisted::twisted:

Aiyah... the 25th not my cup of tea lah... the body shape bugs me... I'm sure the pickup configurations are great though, but nothing my silo specs cannot fulfill... I got no incentive to buy a 25th lei... Somemore no piezo...

I GASsing for ASS RW piezo hardtail now!!!;)

Bro, you will be surprised about the body shape. Really, it is not big and purdy. I didnt like it at first. But after I saw Headstock's pic showing his 25th and axis, and also various artistes' handling them in youtube, I was taken in. And seeing it in the flesh confirmed that.

I think many times BP did not stress enough in bringing out the real physical and tonal characteristics of his product (maybe he don wanna lo soh lah.), okay.. he tried but you know people dont believe words.. Anyway..

Buyin this prove that quality chambered guitar can be acquired at a price lower than the big G and S brands.

All the best to your ASSGAS!

Hahaha... Honestly, I'm concentrating on getting my Schroeder right at this point... If I get it right, I may never need to buy another guitar ever... (ya ya... that's what we ALL say, no?)

Ok ok... Maybe 2 Schroeders...

Ooooh yeah manz the 25th is looking hot! I have heard alot of great tones frm the 25th, manz u r really blessed ripper!

Anyway I have been looking forward to get my hands on a ball, but have read that it has cracks and paint chip issues around the neck joint area at the ball forums. I would like to ask present ball owners whether such problems still exist in the current production model or it's already a thing of the past?

Yup, things are a lot easier when you have relatives/friends staying in the States..

The older production before 2003~03 see some common cases of neck pocket stress cracks, paint chip as well as fissure cracks at the chrome neck plates. I have a small fissure crack line on my Y2D neck plate, but its only cosmetic, happening on the chrome plating. This had not stop me from getting another 4 EBMMs. So, these issues still exist, just not so common.

I think these issues happen in other brands too, just that they are not discussed so much, compare to ebmm, in our case here. We all knew cracks can go all the way into the wood, for all brands, thats the downside of using natural material like wood. So, dont hesistate - go get that dream EBMM, US$ down, perfect opportunity.

hey guys, how do you guys maintain your EBMMS every now and then?

oh yeah, btw what brand of strings do you guys use?

Some auto wax for the gloss bodies, red-oil for rosewood neck/fretboard, lemon oil to clean rosewood board first - then finish with red-oil. maple neck/fret - 0000grade steel wool to clean away grime, then finish with BC tru-oil.

Strings I use RPS 10s for the hardtails and 25th, RPS 9s for the Silo Spec with trem.
