The epiphone les paul standard

the pickups are perfectly fine, its not necessary to replace them. As i said before you gotta know how to tweak the poles height to get the best sound..
I think audio has done a wonderful job debunking that myth.

btw audio.. nice playing.

thanks hifi
enjoy Epi LP...

Sorry to hijack the thread... but seems like lots of people are recommending Tokai and Burny LP guitars instead of Epi.

I'm hesitating now.

So, Tokai or Burny ? And where to get them ? Any idea how much is roughly the price ?

get a edwards LP...like what i going to do next yr..haha..i planning to buy the edwards E-LP85SD model...

c'mon jennajunkers, tokai and burny completely beat epiphone in terms of sound, construction, and price :P

it's good to know that there are Burny & Tokai fans here. Epi should take heed of the good overall features these brands have in store, but time & again we come across Epi LPs which give way too easily & units lacking in tonal definition.

however, there are Epi units which are impressive but these are numbered.

it doesnt beats epiphone in terms of price.
Epiphone is price slightly cheaper than burny, alot cheaper than the tokai, with upcoming sweelee sale, epiphone lp will completely trash the tokai and burny interms of price.

For the sound and construction. there are epiphone units which are indeed comparable to the above brand, you just have to try it out to find out which one is good which one is bad. Theres one epiphone lea paul goldtop(humbuckers version) in guitar connection which i tried out sometime ago at guitar connection, its really superb i say.

those tokai and burny fans? how many of them actually own those guitars?or are they simply joining in the anti-epiphone bandwangon? If you really own those guitars then i respect your oppinions.. if not

there are non-owners here who aren't anti-Epi at all, just unhappy with the state of things, that's about it. especially when the Epi brand name was commissioned to propel the Gibson goodwill- they could have done better.

do we need to be in parliament to appreciate good government? how about you men, dress up like a woman for a day & cook to appreciate your wife's/ mother's domestic contributions? let's all cut off our legs in order to appreciate our physical well-being, shall we?

no offence intended...

I don't really bother about branding. I just want a guitar (LP) that suits me. I've craving for LP for quite sometimes, but won't be getting a Gibson. (I can afford it, but will blow my bank savings, and not worthed for me as a poor guitarist).

Anyway, left me with 3 options : Epiphone, Burny, and Tokai.

Epiphone, price range is 700-900

Anyone knows what is the pricing range for brand new Tokai and Burny ?

how much will you know if you dont own those guitars? You're just basing your oppinions on reviews. or just that short trial session at the the guitar shop

dont you think those without legs will appreciate their physcial well being better?
Those patients with terminal illnesses will appreciate waking up to be alive every single day while we're just lament "just another same old boring day"

daveaha: thats what you see on the display pricetag. On regular days its 20% off the display price, which made up to be around 600+, with the upcoming sweelee sale the epiphone les pauls gonna be alot cheaper

Yoo can consider the shine and suzuki les pauls, price range aroung $500. They're made from the same korean factory that used to made epiphone les pauls.

know that there are some of us here who took pains to track down owners of certain instruments & shamelessly request for a quasi-dismantling experience of their beloved instruments, for perspective's sake & not just limit our experience with a showroom try-outs, when we compare certain products.

handicapped individuals do appreciate their physical well-being better, but there are people who aren't who are equally appreciative. maybe they had a near-handicap experience before?

That's why I'm asking where to find the Tokai and Burnies much earlier.
Have tried the Epi, but haven't 'tasted' the other twos. It's purely madness in buying guitars based on reviews only !

I wonder what's your phrases mean...

actually, i think hi_fi was referring to tany/subversion.

daveaha - tokais can be found at davis. burny should be at yamaha combo shop at Plaza Singapura.
