The epiphone les paul standard

i think it's a waste of money

1)bad construction
2)bad pickups

search up some threads, it has been discussed

Gibson might be a little out of reach for some low end consumers?

I would advise you to probably check out on some of Burny Les Paul copies in Yamaha or the Tokai Les Paul copies in Davis.

In my opinion, they are somewhat better than the Epi's one. I owned 1 before. Bad experience :?

Well if you want things cheaper, Swee Lee is having 50% off for all the Epiphone Les Pauls. At that kind of price, you can't really complain much.

Hmm

By the way, mine is a MIK one. Some of the problems I faced :-

1) The strap hook (top) came off after 6 months of playing.

2) Pickups got mood swing - sometimes sound muddy, sometimes normal

3) When I toggle the pickup switch selector, got the "Zazaza" kinda sound

Hmm

True to a certain extent. However, my advice is to test it out & see if it's really want you want, then buy it.

You wouldn't wanna part with your cash just because the item is on sale rite? You gotta inspect the entire axe (which I failed to in the past) & make sure it is in good working condition before you purchase it. I'm very particular about it now

no i'm not sure. my memory is that of an ah gong. maybe that was referring to smth else but i cant remembered i read about it somewhere. but i dun think it's true

lol!

Haha.. MIJ (best of the fleet) costs above 1K. Check out Subversion's review of the Tokai Love Rock LS-75Q, it's listed $1400 at Davies. :)

To neuro: would you be interested in helping me test out an Epi i'm willing to buy? Cos i have no experience with Epis.. damn! :)

Anyway, right now's the best time to try out a LP for people who want it cheaper, really cheaper. And i do suggest that if anyone wants to get a Burny, Tokai or even an Orville LP, get a MIJ (made in Japan, FYI). However, the only drawback is that it'll cost much more, shooting past a thousand. There's always the alternative of getting second-hand Japanese lawsuits from www.orangeguitar.com, personally i'm very happy with its service and the prices of some of the guitars.

For me, i'm trying out an Epi LP to have a feel of a Les Paul, making use of the sale. In the long term, i'd definitely switch to either a Burny or Tokai one. For now, making the best of use of the sale to give Epi LPs a chance. Bottomline is.. check what you buy. :)

ya...i might get a PRS tremonti SE when davis start bringing it back into singapore again...jus cant wait man...

Most definitely.. but i'm going there to check out some stuff, not buying. Maybe buy accessories, cos they will definitely not run out one. Haha..

Anyway, i heard there's a shortcut to Swee Lee Sims. How ar? Don't know what must get through market or something..
