The BEST string so far...

hey i got one tip to prevent rust

JUST DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR GUITAR AFTER EVERY SESSION...

after playing just do ONE wipe(if u want lar optional) and keep it inside gig bag

dont care about those string cleaner e.t.c as i think those are the ones rusting your strings...WHO AGREES?:)

the string's life also depends on how much time you play..

my fren has a guitar and hasnt change his strings for over half a year..
rusty stuff i tell you..

i using the ESP red pack from davis.. 6.50 only..3 months never rust..make sure u play everyday can liao..

the martin and co too heavy gauge for me man.. hate those strings..

used to have DR.. but due to $$.. ESP better lah.. comes with sticker that i can stick all over my laptop!

this thread is like the car petrol discussion that had been going for very long time til now..
esso and BP.. haha.. sciencetist prove that they are exactly the same.. but people somehow prefer esso just cuz it cost more.. they say car run better and smoother with esso petrol loaded.. and now BP close down.. sad.......

to me..its only the gauges that made the differences lah.. colour or brand i dun care one.

Woahh!! I really envy u guys...My strings normally rust in one week..Due to my stupid SWEATY PALMS.. I need to wipe it every time i finish playing my guitar..if not, TEN TEN TEN..RUST!!

I like elixirs. Been using the same strings for 5 months (going to 6) and they're still smooth on the surface (although the plain strings are somewhat rusty under).

My friend find elixirs to feel yucky though. What about you guys?

Oh my!!! The horror! I've found the best best best strings for me..
DR Hi-Beams.. I bought the last pack that time..
The horrifying part? Davis would never bring in DR Hi-Beams anymore, only Tite-Fit and Pure Blues..
Aiyoh.. Any other shops selling DRs? :(

our body fluid/ sweat are acidic, this is the cause of string deterioaration. a simple wipe down is the first step in preventing deterioration, to some of us, this is enough care procedure. the next step of course, is to apply the cleaning fluid which is proven beneficial. the manufacturers of these care products have enough R&D to ensure these do not contribute to further deterioration instead. as to the effectiveness of this practice, it's a case-by-case basis; it works for some of us, not for others.

PS: before the cleaning fluid became readily available in the stores, the old school mat rockers dab their strings with sewing machine lubricants/ cooking oil (in liberal doses of course...) to keep them alive & kicking...

dean markley blue steels sounds positive explosive when new. But the strings on my guitar are always new.

=IkhsanLavelle
Just do what I do, change them fornightly, i have sweaty palms too, blue steels normally only rust minimally in 2 weeks

eh, thats my cousins' choice of string..
he keeps asking me to use it.. but i prefer ernie ball's...

i haven't changed strings since i bought my guitar. haha.
and i don't see any rust on it. surprisingly. maybe its because i put moisturizer on my hands. coats the strings with a layer of oil to prevent rust. hahaha. maybe. or maybe its because i keep it in its case most of the time.

I love my elixirs. I only bought one pack for one guitar, lasted me since then... The ones on my strat lasted me since November, that's quite a long time, still plays nice and smooth. Some people dislike them, but I think their just great!

Mine too, that's why when I use Ernie Ball, I have to buy a few packs to last me a month. Basic reason I changed to Elixirs! ELIXIRS FTW! And they cost quite a bomb but for the life of it, it's a steal. If I were to buy Ernie ball to last me 9 months, I need 27 x $5 which is, $135 altogether. A pack of elixirs cost me 16 dollars. I always use fast fret too, makes it easier to do your sliding. Well this is just my preference, don't know bout you guys...

Cheers,
WWH
