The Bass Picture Gallery

5stringwonder: i ordered from ishibashi... not on their site but since it was (exclusively) fender japan i figured they confirm have it in stock.

heymrbassman & udjinn: as for the di marzio collection pickups... i have no freaking idea man. totally no info about them at all except that they come with this bass. maybe it was designed specially for this bass. the main reason why i kept the sticker on. kind of a novelty lah

for the price i could have gotten a 75 jazz reissue... but too bad i've never played one before so i cant comment on the sound. but if you talk about the design, its different and alot better, alot more playable.

Here's a noob question: Why are there so few fender five string jazz players here. I'm tempted to ishibashi a jazz v, or get a secondhand five string, SOMEONE TELL ME WHY, nobody uses em around here. Personal choice? or are there better options out there?

haven't come across a fender standard v that gave me a tight enough b-string... the deluxe models, sure, but i can't afford them just yet.

almost done with this one, slowly... will add a hipshot vintage bridge and better tuners when the time comes :)

gotta agree with srxt on the B string.

always found the stock fender B string kinda loose and muddy, i'm sure there are jazz warmoths out there with tight B strings.

that's why.

i'm very particular about my low B ... seriously particular .. if it's muddy it's not even worth to have a low B string on it ...

and it's pretty cheap to get a warmoth too! i calculated ard 1.2k for my specs from warmoth. incl shipping. but the hardware and electronics havent been calculated in yet. so i'm guessing ard 2k min. not bad considering u pay a good 3k or more for a 5 stringed thingy of the same specs that has the extra F-word on it.

not F bass though. that's just different! i'd love to see some pics of those here man!

audie: spiffy! i like the rosewood fingerboards, and your choice of colour for the basses. and your pbass looks really well maintained. nice and shiny badass bridge.

visa: see you play outside, definitely cannot miss your bass.. heh

superkicky: nice touch on the cream pickup covers

arncafe: sharp looking bass! just wondering how it'll look like with a b/w/b pickguard... hmm

I feel so encouraging today. wonder wat the uncle at the hawker centre put in my lunch today...

Thanks iverson....I'm actually looking for a maple fretboard for my next bass heh heh...Bad Ass Bridge II is the bomb yo!! Ha Ha....

well think i will get those leopard print sticker and stick on the whole pickguard.
I saw music theme selling a fender jaguar guitar but its reserved. wondering if they sell pickguard.

i just had a thought, won't laptop skins work as well? they are surely big enough

and how can anyone forget ROSEWOOD pickguards

with nice inlays... i would get it in a heartbeat

there's actually paste on pickguards out there, even tortoise shells one. i got one for roughly 8 bucks. Wanted to do a temporary crude one to see how my jazz looks with tortoise pg, cos the real thing costs quite a bit. though from close up the edges look rough, no thanks to my lousy manual cutting and fitting, from a short distance can't really tell. but hey, it's 8 bucks compared to 70-80 bucks
