AND, the black binding at the sides of the fingerboard make the whole BLACK + NATURAL thing look even more sizzling hot. FTW.

It's a lined fretless, so it's not going to have any inlays. I prefer the raw/au naturale look for my basses anyways

Nice .. the block inlay j-bass reminds me of the 75' jazz bass i was GASing back then .. hahaha .. blocks are nice .. but i like things to be clean .. so i'll opt if i had a new bass .. no inlays on the fingerboard but side dots only .. =)

Is that your desk? I'd never have enough space on my desk to do work on my bass. I always do it out in the main hall on the coffee table with a sheepskin rug thrown on top.

Haha yeah, got it last Saturday but didn't get around to swapping out the parts until now. Soldering, drilling for strap locks and swapping out the jack for a Switchcraft happens tomorrow evening!

And no.. that's my work desk in an unused bedroom... it's got my gear in it right now la.

P.S. any idea if Orange Drop caps for tone pots are any better than the stock Fender ones? I've got an extra one lying around, along with a set of CTS pots which I may or may not install, depending on whether I like black vintage-style knobs on a black bass with a b/w/b pickguard or not...

Orange Drop tone capacitor upgrade
Switchcraft jack upgrade
Nordstrand pickup upgrade
Dunlop straplock upgrade

To do:
Wood filler for old pickguard holes, drill new ones for new pickguard.
Install new Thomastik-Infeld strings, setup bass



I would post photos, but it looks exactly like a normal P-bass 8O
