For all you gear sluts out there A small update!

Its the BB1500a by Yamaha, a great answer to the Fender Jazz, with an active edge! Thanks to Hanz who sold this to me at a great price!!!

i got a BB1500a too! and i'll attest to its excellent playability too -) got mine off a 2nd hand deal also, probably the first bass i wanted to keep -)

Yeah Litford, the bass I'm having is set up VERY low. Its nice and bright sounding too. Pickup height abit high but ok la.

yah lah.. its the stuff mid-range basses were meant to be, excellent value for money! plus the added joy that this series is discontinued. -) i'm playing this with an mxr 6-band and ne-1 and its even deeper than what it normally is capable of!

it's quite bright sounding, pickups are quite restrained, not one to invest in if you are pop/ slap-inclined.

hehehe... this bass has gone around abit... but now its mine... and i can only say i love it! This is pretty much a keeper for me! I've read reviews abt how this bass electronics are not that good, but after playing with it for quite awhile.. i am satisfied. Hahaa.. Kelvin.. looks familiar?

Damn but Kelvin... i'm a yamaha guy... i love that BB1500a u have there!

how much did you get it for? i tried a vintage one (68) before and it sounds remarkably like a p. but smaller.
