parent react coz they are concern of their children behavior aftermath, traumatize children at a young age can actually remain in them till even they have their own family, for example, if a young girl being scarred by a innocent kitten at young age, they be traumatize their whole life, same goes here....is a psychological message that children decipher in their own brain tat we need to understand even we explain to them in a decent manner, how much do u think children will forget the gorey image???...

true.. but then again comes the question when they hit maturity. on the subject of this ad, i dont think itll affect much...

what the hell are kids doing watching channel newsasia?
go back to your legos and build me an awesome space machine instead!!

edit: headwan, i think we need some real scientific facts to back that claim up

well thats what of the younger generation today.
they are way too ahead for their age.
doing things which they are not suppose to do.

sometimes tv can be good, but unsupervised tv is bad..

pervasive societies produce pervasive minds.pervasive minds produce pervasive products.

explain to the kids? well, guess it helps you feel better as you have done your part.

as the whole society is polluted with craps of similiar kind. one day u will read of kids decapitating another kid(s).

random shootings, stabbing, slapping with video thrown in. you name it, you have it.

we are already on the high way to hell.

even 'art' of today is so disguised in the name of art!

think about it.

Coming from a media background, I find the ad, like most stuff on local tv, in bad taste. Its not even clever. I was channel surfing and the programme before that was "Incredible tale", so i thought it was a trailer for the next ep, haha....

woah burt you must be an art student. but you have a point there.
what is art anways... theres so many answers.

yeah, i must agree with pheonix, its so typical..

+1 to both.. haha

I shall design a t-shirt that says: "Save Gaia. Blame Your Parents".

Anybody want to buy? Hurhur...

'shock tactic' is just another word for exaggeration

when i was a kid my main concerns were destroying and burning things. i also liked to watch action cartoons where robots blast the shit out of each other. as a result i spent time in jail for vandalism and arson

reality check lah guys

at first when i saw the advert, i thought it was a trailer of a horror movie or what. i didnt get the connection till i read this thread.haha.

the advert does send its message across. yeah i agree that it is not suitable for the very young ones. though i think that children have to face the facts and think for themselves. guided by parents, they can learn to analyse. parents should not just change the channel or go "close ur eyes now!" upon stumbling on this type of things. instead let the children see and feel then explain why this and that. just an observation, parents keep saying things are wrong and not explaining why. though this dont work for all occasions.

oh whatthehey, its 2am and i dont even know what im talking about.

haha, burt, you want to be the next vincent van gogh

I remembered how he wrote letters to his brother everytime he paints just to express what it meant. and on later part of his life he cut his ear...

he died... and only then his painting started to sell for high prices.

hmm on a more serious note.
i seriously think they should just end that AD...its very disturbing like that ciggy AD

i remembered there was this local guy who drank his own pee, and he called it art.

well, vincent cut his ears to gain publicity also.

i think artists are attention seekers la.

i will not drink pee, eat shit or cut my ear, maybe run around buck naked in orchard road after i paint enough walls.

wah hahahahaha.......

...i better start writing to whoever to explain my wall paintings, otherwise they might not sell at all!

For the 1st time I saw this Advert, I was pondering over what is it all about and trying to convey in this message.

After I saw it a few gos, I understand and I got a little scared as I'm also a smoker and a heavy one. It is very effective I think.

Firstly - it tells you - You're Killing yourself, you are killing not only yourself but - your own kids or your family (this being most effective).

This is a very good & effective way to make people stop smoking...as they imculcate Fear (to the smoker) and Love as a Parent/Human- both acting on our Phycological Mind

PS:- Generally talking about TV Advertisement...the most freakout advertising are those from United Colors Of Benetton in the US...really OPENED....so this is nothing and it mean't well, and it's true what smoking could do to us.
