Honestly if people would bother to think deeper, the advertisement would be a pretty interesting one. IMO, that boy doll was symbolic of the next generation. By destroying the Earth, we're actually destroying our future, as once we die, this Earth will go to them, albeit not in a very good state. If they fail to pick up the pieces we've left, they're as good as dead. Haha my interpretation

Rudimental: I believe the advert is about the environment. Not smoking.

Since you misintepreted it, it goes to show that the advert DIDN'T work. The message got lost, despite the scare tactic approach.

do advert makers even care if their ads works anymore, as long people watch them? most of them are really dumb and some are downright offensive to the discerning audience. though, has anyone watched the recent Honda ad in the UK where they got a team of skydivers to spell out their brand name LIVE in 3 minutes? it's pretty cool.

(difficult is worth doing)

I think he was referring to a previous smoking advert which was as nightmarish as the saving gaia one lol

im learning about issues like this in school now.

i dont know how the small kids will get affected. maybe they will, maybe they wont. we cant tell for sure because it doesnt have an immediate effect, its culmulative.

one shouldnt under-estimate the power of media though

from a personal point of view
very badly done ad

Now what part of this is suitable for minors? It's no rocket science. Children do NOT see "hidden" messages. Children see what adults don't - the obvious.

There is a limit to censorship, but there is a limit to exposure; there is a limit to what a child is exposed to. This horribly-planned advertisement is a symbolic representation of the media's decreasing ability to "think" - or plan. There is nothing to be "open" about when having a child witness bleeding, let alone gore. The professionals behind such advertisements are professional by paper, and paper only. Nobody sane and intelligent enough would say this is "suitable for all viewers".

Firstly, the blood. Why are games with just a cartoonish depiction of gore rated "13+"? I don't know, but I do know this world has kids below the age of 13. That fact itself disqualifies the advertisement at phase 1. Secondly, the saw. Couple it with the portrayal of blood, it passes the test at phase 2 with "15+". So, where in society are children all 13 and above?

I think there is too much "creativity" going on these days - to the extent the very meaning of creativity has been distorted. When you tell a person without creativity to create, this is what happens. There are a growing - no - there is an overpopulation of such people in this world as of this date. Please, urge others around you to stop thinking out of the box when they, by nature, aren't able to.
