Tele vs. Strat Necks

Hi all, just curious about the GENERAL differences between FENDER tele and strat necks. Care to share more?

From what I research, tele necks are thicker than strat necks. Is it true and if it is, any reason behind it?

Once again, just looking into the general differences. Don't tell me you can't compare this, you can't compare that because I know that the specs differ according to year and model.

General differences.

Thanks!

as a rule of thumb, you can assume that its thicker because many manufacturers try to create their own take around popular historical models, though not necessarily as it all depends what shape/size the manufacturer was planning for.

wad neck ? C neck , Soft V , D neck , V neck many ah .

Sorry my mistake for not specifying.

Well basically comparing each neck profile to the same one on the other -

Strat C Neck to Tele C Neck
Strat D Neck to Tele D Neck
... ...

Anyways, looking more at the C's and the D's, particularly the C shaped.

hi Bouncy

The Nocasters and many of Fender's vintage inspired Tele models have fairly large necks. These have a much different feel from Fender's generic "Modern C" shape neck which they do use on many if the non-vintage inspired Strats as well as Teles.

I have a short time for replies hence I'll leave you ths image showing some neck profles ... I hope its useful.

hi,

imho

the differences in feel are regularly attributed to the fretsize, fretboard radius (7.25', 9.50') as well as depth of the profiles, in addition to the neck shape.

I've found that the neck shapes are the same. I played a CS "C" shaped neck once. Compared to my Strat "C" neck on the vintage reissue, it's the same.
