yeAH I thought so too... I found the tonewoods used pretty fine. 100% alder for bodies and maple necks. But the part I'm unsure about are the electronics. Any opinion?

SX strats are quite good, actually. they're well-made the tone is awesome! i couldn't find any flaws at all! i didn't look inside though :?

Electronics are pretty ok...just scratchy...some contact cleaner would clear the scratch sounds away...other than that...pretty durable...dropped my axe a couple of times and nothing happened...scratch cannot be seen unless looked at at about 1cm away...

Well, What I think is when a guitar is cheap, it doesn't nesccasarrly mean it sucks. I think it's because of the lack of brand power, cheaper labor costs and probably cheaper electronics that go in that makes it so cheap. Otherwise, with such tonewoods going in, I'm pretty impressed.

Well, if you wanna buy an SX, do it now...don't wait 'till it shifts its factory to some high classed place...then the price would be ladders high then...

I bought an SX once for fun, it SuXed... worst no upgrades posible cause most of the components not compatible with other after market parts - not for the pro muso or hobby moddist...

On the + side - at that price range - its a an ok beginner's model .....

If you need to get an SX, get it before the nuptials...

i used to have a sx strat...

uhm.....its okay...perfect for the beggining electric guitarist but like what the others have described, players will soon be rushing to upgrade it.

im still missing it cuz of the TONE. the jang is da bang :lol:

woa..1st time i've seen this..always thot SX's better..
but juz now i tried a 2nd hand TGM at a shop n was pretty impressed(n it's only $130)..

once my buddies were having lessons at peninsula n i tagged along to go ther. 1 of them owned an SX strat which he bought at SGD500+ with amp in aussie(looks cheapo to me, tho). i tried it n i liked the neck so much tt i asked kelvin if it's the same SX as those tt davis carry n he said it's the older batch n looks like it's from TGM factory(cuz of the neck wood)..
