Old thread digger!!!
I bought a Suhr strat (on order) last year, but could never bond with it no matter how I hard I tried. So I sold it away. Recently I bought a used mid-80's MIJ Fender strat just because I like the feel of the neck! I did some serious mod on it, and now it plays, feels and even sounds better than my previous Suhr. And overall cheaper too. To me, it's a real keeper. So IMO, not all booteek guitars are necessarily good or suitable for you.![]()
Nevermind Suhrs and Tylers. That's kid's stuff. When I grow up, I want a DeTemple!!!!
I guess there are several grown-ups on this forum then.Maybe there'll be a DeTemple pics thread in time to come.
If I'm not mistaken, there's a long waiting list for DeTemple. That's one reason for its exclusivity. Those crazy ang-mos who own them at TGP seem darn proud of it!![]()
Detemple's wait list of two years is not that bad, try Driskill, people can wait up to 3-5 years for one piece.

I think TA's made a lot of sales off the quality of their website.

With the exception of video/audio clips, the number of high resolution studio photos of their guitars really creates the GAS needed for impulse buys.
But very nice playing guitars when you actually try them ... I have to say.
I think a lot of small-scale luthiers/builders neglect the marketing power of a good website; many recognise the fact, but are just to busy building guitars/amps to set aside time and finances to address the issue.
