Stuck for choice of new pickup

Wah...no Bill Lawrences for me...no money already...

Crawldaddy, maybe it's because them bands are using the same brand of guitars...Gibson...I'm not sure about Simple Plan but I know Yellowcard (foul!) and Snap Five use Gibbys

Hmm.

Same guitars perhaps yes... after all a Gibson LP sounds like a Gibson whether it's GnR, The Darkness, (place random LP-using band here).

However! I personally feel that some of the most unique LP tones come from Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Brian Robertson and Scott Gorham (the latter two being Thin Lizzy alumni).

Vintage tones, but they all sound unique. Perhaps tone really is in the fingers (no need to discuss this question.. subjective after all)?

Hmm.

Definitely! I've stuck by vintagey, slightly fuzzy tones because I'm primarily influenced by the people who innovated rock and roll, rather than being influenced by younger folks who have influenced by the legends themselves.

After all, if it ain't broke, why fix it?

Shredcow, I'd love to play it through my stock pickups ...but they squeal once I stop playing...I can't shut it up unless I turn down the volume...and some songs I play have that few seconds of stoppage which I can't turn the volume up and down that fast.

Hah, I'm not looking for them pickups to go into the metal territory anyways....hee..

df,

my suggestion to you is to find a 2nd hand tele bridge sized humbucker (You don't need no stinking neck pickup for punk!!!) Something along the lines of DiMarzio Chopper/Hotrails or Duncans JB Jr/Lil59.

If you have problems finding them used, either get brand new or you can mail order from GFS/Guitar Fetish. Search for their twin rails humbucker but for Tele Bridge.

Install that and you're microphonics are gone and you have the tools to be a punk rockstar.

Enjoy your journey!

what would you go for

a) mass produced overhypes ?

b) mass produced in sweat shops but sold as had wound in exorbirant prices? ...(the true fact ...nobody hand wind anymore  )

c) low production hand made with passion coupled with years of experience ?

Inconsistency in those mass produced overhypes just makes me puke !!

wahhhh... so chim man your post.... deep deep... probe very deep.

bill lawrence is da man but not many people can accept the "no hype" and some people actually DO NOT like the sound.

some people actually DO NOT like the sound.

true Ed ...i think its time i stop talkin abt BL ....

HEy Ed  lets hand roll some mojo and sell it $400 a pop and we get a long list of stars on it as well .....we can call it 'bare bottoms' or 'killman' or justy 'GooseEd' or 'EdGoose' .....lai lai lai ...

Got it! I wanted whoever was responsible for wiring my pickups to undo them neck pickups but he said that it would be a problem if I were to sell my guitar...and he said there'd be more versatility. Maybe I'd reverse the switch so that it won't impede in my lightning speed shut the volume up. Haha...cheers, people! Thanks for your helpful comments!

Aiyo... what u mean by undo the neck pup?

Just take it out, put a STICKER over the pickguard and THERE YOU GO!!!

When wanna sell, wire it in again!
