I understand pickguards come in all sort of sizes/screw holes/cutting etc.

Anyone has a good idea if mexican strats uses the same pickguard size as Japan or USA? And also, locally, where I can check out a series of mexican pickguards? Preferably with huge variety. Thanks

I see. Locally, any place sells a huge variety of pickguards? Stratocasters. And hopefully there are specifically for mexican ones? TIA

there are not much places locally. a walk around the whole of peninsula/excelsior should cover what parts are available in SG.

how about you go and take a walk there and go shop to shop, and maybe can let the forum know if there's any place is selling what you want?

TIA. ;)

Don't worry, I have done that.

Which is why I'm in the forum to ask for more sources and I am not very knowledgeable in these sort. Nevertheless some info for our fellow softies.

Zen guitar (Maestro concept stalls) Sells X-guards, mainly for JAP Stratocasters.

Davis: Mainly US Strat parts.

I'm enquiring of course, if anyone knows, for extra possible sources like some hidden websites (locally) who is selling such accessories. Or 'hidden' shops which is not so well known of as compared to the ones in Peninsula. Thanks again.

Ok... Pickguards are broken into 2 groups generally. 8 hole single plys, for 50s and 11 hole 3 plys for 60s and above. The differences for the 11 hols in terms of different year batches, are that the screw holes for the top side nearest the middle pup is usually different. For MIMs and MIJs, they are also different alignments, but follow the SAME groupings ofr 8 and 11 holes.

I believe guitar connection should have what you want.

US & Japan pjguards & bridges are somewhatthe same specs - mex pickguards are slighlty diffirent.

Best choice for a spec to spec MIM strat style pick guard are the internet sites including WD - but you musttell them you want a MIM pickguard - they can custom cut. I did a custom MIM pkguard for a Sambora strat a few years ago in Pearl white - WD is ex but well worth the price.

The only other way is to bring ur existing pkguard to penin area and do a on the stop comparison ...normall the top mid holes will diffire from a US pkguard.

If your axe aint too new & no issue over retro fit parts - get a whatever available pkguard and retro fit lah - cheaper & easier ... after the old holes wont be seen under the pickguard
