I Don't know whether some of you are also having "disabled" hand like me..
Problems having so far while playing guitar:
Lack of strength
Pinkie is as if reserved(never used but only when playing power chords.)
Tired easily..
Sweep picking(never gonna make it.)
Flexible fingers have nothing to do with whether you should or should not play the guitar. It's all about discipline and focus. (Of course talent is important too, but that's a secondary issue)
Your problems aren't real problems. That's what most new guitarists experience.
Not everyone uses their
pinkies. Yngwie Malmsteen rarely uses his pinkies for scales... (surprising huh?) Mainly 3 fingers. Eric Clapton doesn't use his pinkie much, except for chords. It's technique that matters here. once you can play comfortably using 3 fingers, the pinky is a bonus. But still not entirely necessary.
Getting
tired easily has to do with acid build ups at joints. This is NORMAL. When you don't excercise often, and you try to jog, the same happens to your knees and ankles. It's a matter of stamina.
Sweep Picking. This is a technique which some people NEVER get. I've been playing for longer than some people on this forum have been alive, and I've NEVER been able to sweep. But that's not hampering my enjoyment of playing. Listen to my clips in the soundclick link in my siggy. Does it sound as if I cannot play because I can't sweep? (No, I can't play simply because I have no talent...:mrgreen
If you really want to learn this technique, then keep at it, but remember that it shouldn't deter you fom learning OTHER techniques.
So, just plug in, and play away...
