STILL NOT HEAVY ENOUGH!

I want more heavy.

How can i get deep heavy chugs when playing? I've got an ultra-metal pedal, solid state ibanez amp, standard pickups on my craftsman.

Am i doing anything wrong? maybe my gear is set up for the wrong sound.

I watch dvd's and when they have backstage and stuff, they just play a simple riff and it sounds so big and heavy.

Yeah, but i dont really know what im changing.

I've changed the EQ on amp and pedal, maybe i havent found the right settings i want but i dont even know what they do except bass..

Try setting your eq without the pedal first? Maybe you should try adjusting with all the EQ's at 12o clock, reducing/increasing where appropriate. Usually for chugs the mids will be lower than bass and treble. Or at least on mine. Could be the amp too.

hey man, i have 2 15watt amps, 1 peavey blazer 158, 1 samick...anyway, one day i tried linking them together, peavey output to samick input, guitar to peavey input, with the peavey overdrive(the peavey overdrive is better than my DS1!), anyway, it sounded damn heavey n rounded, like those live metallica sound..haha...if u have 2 amps, maybe u wanna try that too. The peavey was set to my normal settings, n the samick's bass was turned up a bit. Might post a sound sample, if im free.(n the mic works..:P)

Dude, its like this

dualamps.jpg

guitar > pedal > ibanez input > ibanez headphone jack > samick input.

doesnt work, no sound from either.

When i plug into samick first, i only get sound from samick and not ibanez.

i'll keep trying and fidling around

craftsman LP, dunno what pickups.. I have gold covers on them and havent taken em off.. I've got them screwed down low anyway

put your bass to to 4 o clock, treble to 3, mid to 9.
max out your gain.
pao you + garuntee chop you chug chug

oi nabei.. i using some stupid worthless 'idontknowwhydoistillhaveit' 15w zoom amp. have the onboard distortion on..

try my idea leh. why? chinese cannot play metal issit

Hey nitro, I had the same problems when i started out playing..
Its okay.

Its just that your amp is not big enough, even if you can get the metal sound the bass freqs won't sound tight or controlled. (at loud volumes)

Are you able to get the soud you want at lower volumes?

Forget the big amp, forget getting more efx, forget new pups...

For now. ;)

Work with what you got first. Reason being, if you can get palm muted distortion out of a marshal ms2 mini amp, why not your amp?

Do the following:

Raise the pups. Pup heigh low = less output. You want some good output for chug.

You can find out how much to raise by refering to www.Dimarzio.com or www.projectguitar.com

Then please report.

Sometimes an eq pedal is overlook :(
Worse if its left lying around the floor.
I dont see much difference in pickups..
So Nitrovo,....
