Hi Guys.

I'm a newbie in bass and have finally decided to either get the Stagg BC300 or the Timbre JB-800. Can u guys give me your opinions on these 2 basses. I've tried them both and like both equally. It's just that i've been hearing stuff tt's not very good bout the stagg bass, one of the things tt i heard is tt after a couple of months the stagg bass will start going downhill like the sound starts beginning to sound crappy, strings not staying in tune etc. Please advice me on which one i should get.

Thanks in advance everyone. :)

get the timbre

 I like your style bro.

If you've narrowed it down to 2 choices and there's issues with one, it pretty much leaves you with an obvious choice doesn't it? Unless of course you're experiencing some kind of cognitive dissonance with the Stagg bass where you seem to prefer it over the timbre although it's got bad reviews...

Which then my advice is - get the Stagg. Then when it craps out, you have an excuse to upgrade :D

stagg is not bad, i saw a kid murdering it at zen, but the tone sounded pretty decent. unless you live in woodlands or something

one thing i dont like is that some staggs have some kind of coating on their fretboards. a personal preference thing i guess

GSR200 > its a good beginners bass. Versatile with plenty of low end.

Reliability is not a problem. It stands up to abuse well considering the number to times i dropped it.

My only peeve is that the pickup wiring is like sh*t. The brigde pickup is very noisy but nothing a bit of re-wiring won't solve.

It holds up well among a lot of mid-range basses out there. Sorry to add to your dilemma if now your starting to consider GSRs

but between your two choices, go for timbre.
