Springs

Okay, I recently added 2 springs to the bridge of my Squier Strat cause the bridge was floating too much. now there are 5 springs in it, and the bridge is stiff as hell

any idea how i can "weaken" the springs so as to make it less... tension-y?

I usually use three ....to activate tremolo action.

What you need is 3 springs and adjust the tension accordingly!
Five makes a hardtail.

If you not sure how to do it ask someone who knows to show you or consult a tech. ;)

Err... 4 instead of 5 springs?

Either that, or just keep going at it. Not gonna help much that way though.

It could be that the screws tightening the bridge to the body are too tight. I'm talking about the screws just beneath the strings where the leave the saddles. Try loosening them and see if it works
