L lightice New member Mar 8, 2007 #25 I don't doubt your experience, I'm just saying the way the vintage trem minus 4 screws = 2 pt american trem. It doesn't work the same as the FR. Setting up guitars have nothing to do with this I think. It still works as a trem, I'm just saying the mechanism behind it is not the same. Anyway here is some reading on it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tremolo_arm

edder New member Mar 8, 2007 #27 lightice, its ok man. ok my fingers need to type. anything CAN be a pivot. just that the vintage trem screws are acting as the pivot. I'm just saying the way the vintage trem minus 4 screws = 2 pt american trem. Click to expand... I TOTALLY AGREE! except that the vintage trem with 2 screws are a primitive workaround. It doesn't work the same as the FR. Click to expand... Of course not! FR is LOCKING and the keyword here is LOCKING. I was refering to the FR comparison in terms of the 2 pivot points.... so we clear here?
