Songs you absolutely hate playing but are forced to?

Eh , no she killed it
Yeah...actually I can't stand her version too. Hehehehe!! I only hate the song when the yuppies love it. But I still do play the song whenever there's request. Will play it full heartedly if requested by Rockers. But if yuppies request it...just whack lah...that's why need to learn how to play it properly if requested by yuppies.

Because yuppies only learn about rock in the late 90's and claim to be rockers. Chey!! Pui!!

so wads the diff btw yuppies and rockers?
Hehehe!! The different with Yuppies which mean "yup..yup..yup" in another words 'yes man'. Whose not solely liking it but just following the masses. Rockers are those who love not only the Rock music but the lyrics. There's where and how we express ourselves. That goes the same with the song Enter sandman by Metallica. When the first recording was made and played, the yuppies said it was a 'noise pollution'. But now they 'love' the song so much and requested it over and over in a nite joint where there's band and thought they've converted to be a rocker. Even Metallica don't wanna play it. That's what I've read on this song said by Metallica themselves. Because the yuppies love it. It is meant for Rockers not yuppies!!

Rockers don't rely on tabs downloaded from internet. We learn to hear and play. We don't care and we trust no one except one of us!! We can't get it today...we'll get it again tomorrow or the day after or the day after...

actually for me its kinda funny.

Songs that i don't normally like to play are the songs I end up enjoying to play the most when its requested by the audience.

I love the feeling of feeding off the energy from the audience, and it can be an ah beng or yuppie or whatever making the request, but as long as I find them singing along /dancing along, clapping along to their requested song that we are playing for them, I'm pretty much happy and reminded on why I want to play music in the first place, to entertain the crowds.

i'd rather play a set list of lame songs that are appreciated by the majority of the audience no matter how corny they are, than to play a set list of cool songs that reek of self indulgence . Like that , might as well play during a jam session or in the bedroom. And yeah, their drunken energy/appreciation perks me up and makes me feel connected with them.So i forget how corny the songs are in the first place.

That's true too what said by snuffleupagus!! Infact, most musicians would have that kind of feeling.

But me and bro fgl, need to look for yuppies musician to teach us how to play it right the way they want it.

when i was in my previous band...soma by the strokes. the strokes is cool and all, but i really cannot stand playing that song. seriously the most fcking boring songs i've ever played on guitar. the rhythm guitar (i played rhythm for that song back then) consists of only two chords played over and over again... even creep by radiohead is more fun to play than that song (i don't really like playing that song as well).

i don't like playing enter sandman as well...or sweet child o mine, although about everyone in this thread has mentioned that song.

If you listen and play rock music because you love and don't care what others think irregardless what year you are born. You are a real rocker!! But if you listen or play rock music because you're following the masses then you are just another yuppie.

There are yuppies who are born in the 60's too. To them it's like 'hip' to be a rocker. We rockers don't care!! Some are just music lovers...who love everything which are categoriesed differently with respect!

For me, my band are planning to cover this song but has yet to play it but I really hope and pray that we won't play this song. It's none other than 'M.I.A.' by Avenged Sevenfold. I don't know why but I really can't stand the song, as well as most A7x songs, the only one I like being 'Chapter Four'.

No offense to the many Avenged Sevenfold fans here, I just can't stand their music. Subjective tastes, after all.

haha and in an earlier post you spat on people who only found rock in the late 90s...

yea i'm sure we all know you're a real rocker dude! here's your validation=)

FGL can play ANY song off hand...just ask ...he can play it...I ON THE OTHER HAND....get slightly peeved when i can't play a song , requested , that i did not learn....like ...lots of oldies....jazz....(someone to watch over me....and i really to this day, can't believe, someone once requested for 'eye of the beholder' from chick corea elecktric band...)

should have a game show man! 'stump FGL'...ask FGL to play or sing any song...if he can't then the player gets points...if FGL can then buy him prata....

WAHHHHAHAAA BRO AQUA ... I'm good but I'm not THAT good dah ..hee heee .. pratas indeed

In the earlier days, people associate rock music with drugs, satanic, etc...etc...which we all know better by now as everyone started to think in a right mind.

I never spat on rockers. But read carefully, yuppies who claimed to be a rocker! Pui!! Only play Sweet Child of mine and blast their distortion out loud think they're a rocker. Other rock music which act like a scriptures to us are never known to them.

Bro Tetra's true validation is that he has been a professional then later semi professional rock musician for the last twenty odd years both locally, regionally and in Europe.

A great example for all aspiring rockers out there, especially the new up and coming ones, our bro Tetra is.

Tetra gua caya saya lu!
