Some Help With Podxt Recording

Hey everyone, i need some help with my podxt.

ok here goes..

when i record with the podxt, there is always a delayed response as the signal feeds into the computer. for example, i play something, then it takes almost half a second before the actual sound is fed to the computer. all this time i've just had no choice but to shift the entire recording foward. but this has been bugging me a long time and its starting to get really irritating.

anyone has the same problem? care to share?

and btw, i'm going through an ibanez guitar, to the podxt and usb directly into the computer through gearbox. and then finally received through sony acid pro. this problem happens with ableton studios too. i'm using an acer computer.

any help would be greatly appreciated

Check your latency settings in your recording software. Right now, it's probably set to around 500ms.

Also, you computer must be fast enough to handle latency free real time recording, otherwise when you set your latency setting to 0ms, your computer will choke.

It's pretty hard to get 0ms latency for usb recording. I used to download a low latency ASIO driver from http://www.asio4all.com/ but it clashed with my Creative drivers in some programmes. After trying to tweak a lot, I realised my damn X-Fi Fatality sound card can't achieve what I wanted because the drivers for it were primarily designed for gaming/entertainmen instead of recording. It just can't convert real time hi-res digital audio signals from usb ports to analog sounds to the output.

What I did was to buy a spdif cable and used it from my podx3 directly to my sound card now for recording purposes. Not the best option imho, but still does the job well.

oh nice, thanks for the quick replies guys, i'll try it in a bit.

and btw, madwerewolfboy, whats a spdif cable? and i am using the asio4all driver already haha
