here's another riddle:
there are twelve bags of coins. each bag contains twelve coins. one of the bags contain fake coins.
a real coin weighs 2 grams. a fake coin weighs 1 gram.
you have a weighing machine which can take ONE reading (can only be used once).
how do you determine which bag contains the fake coins?

can u take out the coins?


EDIT: just lift up the bags and u can roughly tell right? since the fake one is half as light as the real ones. dun need to use weighing machine lol

weigh one of the coins from either bag! that way you'll find out if it is 1 or 2 grams, thus telling you whether the bag it came from contains real or fake coins! or weigh the bag.. the one which weighs 12grams contains fake coins, and the one which weighs 24g contains real ones

put one coin from each bag onto the weighing machine, one by one. observe the reading. when the reading jumps only a gram, congrats... you've found the bag with fake coins.

I am going to use pretty simple approach.

Probability states that the chances of picking up the bag full of fake coins is 1/12.
So, the 1st bag that will be picked would probably be the bag full of real coins which will be 24grams. Now using this bag to compare the weight of each bag eventually we will come to a bag that is slightly lighter then the first bag.

Hmm, come to think of it, you dont really need the weighing machine. But my approach is pretty low brow tho.

sialaaaa i use hand oso can solve. no need weighing machine. anyone of u cant tell a bag thats half as light as others?
 
The general idea for the coin riddle is to take 1 coin from the first bag, 2 from the second, etc. Weigh all of them together, and the weight will tell you which bag contains the fake.
