So you think squier and sx are lousy guitars?

Maybe there's a hidden follow up video where he goes "Ok that was the crappy guitar, NOW look what I can do with this $30,000 US strat."

 Like totally slay?

I got a cheapo acoustic... its just $250. It sounds better, to my ears, than a 1.5k Taylor. A friend who was with me, also thought so.
Are all of the same line of my cheapo acoustic = tone heaven? Or the best thing since sliced cheese between sliced bread? Unlikely. I just happened to get a really good sounding one of the bunch. Nothing else.
There was a more expensive guitar of the same brand there. It was ... not so nice. Hehe.

i have built ...restored ... tweaked guitars for some time now and i wish say that *any guitar built and set-up proper* will sound good!

But the quality of that instrument where the *ability to perform consistently* without breakdown should be taken into consideration.

Cheap gear is cheap gear and ripp-offs are aplenty ...choose wisely 8)

Not crappy but...

The "cheap" squiers are not junk, they really do play nicely at least the ones I have tried, but these are not the real thing. I've been using Epiphone for a while, and when I finally got a real Gibson les paul, you can clearly hear the difference in tone and sustain, the Gibson is truly superior. Guess it's just a matter of your budget.

don't say sx are bad.infact, their basses are actually quite good (comparing it at that price)
squier, u refering to the strat?
squier is a subby of fender(lol subby, subversion)

no money get fender tele, get the squier tele.
whats so bad about it?

sepultura: you can clearly hear the difference in tone and sustain, the Gibson is truly superior...

superior not in name but believably due to wood types/ electronics/ overall craftsmanship...

subby is sooo rite.

u can't expect a sub to be AS GOOD AS the real one, but at least, it can sound the best it can at that price range, know what i mean?

is that extended pickguard for added plastic tone

hur hur hur and by changing the pickup selector blade switch to a rotary one adds VINTAGE, CLARITY, THREE DIMENSIONAL sound to the guitar!

I BELIEVE that pots and switches MUST be mounted on a METAL plate for MORE BASS!!!!!!

YOU HEARD THIS FROM EDDER FROM SOFT FORUM FIRST!!!

good example. (same ej strat as mine... great guitar)

bad.

even if the bad example was a real 60s olympic white mojo strat worth 50k USD
id doubt anyone could tell.

bottom line is.. if you know what you are doing. you practise hard and you pay attention to how you sound on stage and how your recorded/miced up sound is like... you will sound pretty decent irregardless of the guitar.

the guitar's build quality and feel is personal to the player. you play better you may not sound better... you just play better... less mistakes , more in tune...etc... that alone is worth paying more.

How you sound can be tweaked. its training your ears, honing your skills, building up experience and learning from other musicians that money cant buy.

its debatable.... irregardless is word created, like any other word we use today.

as long as people understand and use it.... it exists~

"aberthen is a wrong spelling. The correct spelling is "abathen". It's a combination of Hokkien (a Chinese dialect) and English.

Someone asks you a stupid question, and you reply...

ABATHEN...?

the last budget guitar i got, had a nut that was too high to lower my strings to a playable height, a bolt-on neck that didn't sit properly, and uneven frets.

maybe mine was one unfortunate piece that fell through a lazy QC, but i feel that price and brand does offer a substantial, though limited indication of an instrument's quality.

i think with every production process in the world , there is a margin of error.. no matter how small .. its there.

you want to produce 1000/1000 fit for sale units... you gotta pay dearly .Which in turn means much higher selling price. you can see these in guitar makers like suhr, tom anderson etc... even so im sure theres someone out there who is unhappy with their boutique guitar.
