so...vPost lost my bass

N after all the loooong waiting time that I went thru when I ordered my guitar neck from USA using USPS, I was considering using VPost for my future purchases....now will think twice about it if involves a costly item. But when using Ebay, the US sellers don't ship here so have to use Vpost.

Vpost themselves made a good error in their shipping calculation when I shipped in a guitar and ended up paying less than the actual cost. : )

Yea, I agree. Kick up a really really huge fuss about this with Vpost & make sure you make them know just how enraged you are. And hopefully, you will get a decent compensation.

knowing singaporean companies they'll probably just pay him 60 bucks "as stated in their T&C" ._.even CASE can't do much if it's black and white...best of luck bro

Thats utter bullshit.

Under the Singapore constitution they still can be taken to court for betrayal of trust and lack of goodwill. Most of these companies think that they got all the grounds covered under their crappy "terms and conditions" but trust me at the end of the day all these are just simply to cover their own asses. The courtroom judge has the right to overrule any term that might be deemed unfair and unacceptable to any party involved respectively, so all is not lost.

good news, vpost found my bass! while all the crappiness about vpost hasn't changed, i'm just happy that this has ended with the best case scenario, rather than the worst case where it's lost, i get no compensation, have to sell everything i own and go to work everyday. :)

vPost said they would expect it to arrive and send it to me in the next few days, which is great cuz i have a band rehearsal on Friday...a perfect chance to test it out. :D

don't forget to take pictures and post up on the gallery!
of course!

Insurance is a must if you r planning to make another purchase from abroad in the future. gives u some peace of mind.
congrats on your new bass
:)

Hey, great to hear you found yr bass finally. Pray hard it arrives safely too.

Anyway, I too buy stuff online. Was doing research last year about Vpost, and at the end of it, I decided that over my dead body will I use Vpost. The horror stories are just too many many... Right now, I use Borderlinx and Paypal, where in both companies, your item being shipped is kinda like "auto-insured", as in no need to pay extra for insurance. You can read more at the FAQs at Borderlinx website. Only down side of it is that you have to use a CitiBank Credit Card, which is why some still stick to Vpost.

Well not that Borderlinx dun make mistakes - they recently just charged GST tax to my package for no reason... But their 24/7 live chat is a life-saver. Plus they have DHL international tracking system for all shipments.. Thou some say its more expensive to ship via Borderlinx, at least there is some peace of mind.

i've actually found the shipping cost from Borderlinx cheaper than vPost. Do like that the ship by DHL too. It's much faster and more reliable.

btw, what bass did you get?
