Smallest Tube Amp

- I need it to have a very
crystal clean sound

Like I said you need a higher wattage to do anything of that sort. You're better off with a MicroCube or something. Much more functional, portable and takes pedals really well.

Everyone nowadays wants a tube amp. But get a tube amp not for the novelty of owning a tube amp, rather because you prefer the tonal aspects of it, for example tube sag, dynamic response, and perhaps even edge-of break up tones to employ a fuzz.
From what you describe, you'll be better off with a more functional solid state amp. Entry level tube amps can be disappointing relative to good solid state ones..

Well, i'm gonna use it for rm practice.
Important character of the amp is- I need it to have a very
crystal clean sound, as for the dirty, i can use my distortion pedal.
easy to carry around.....

No chance. For crystal cleans you need an amp with higher headroom.

2 points mentioned before. You can have a tiny head that you can bring around, buy you probably will not be able to bring around a 1x10 or 1x12 cab around easily.

The smallest I can think of is the Vox AC4TV combo. Imo it's still hard to bring around, but I guess that's the best compromise in terms of sound and portability.

bro, a good solid state amp would be more suitable for what you're looking for.

get one with a good inbuilt speaker preferably a 12". something that's affordable but not too shabby is the line 6 spider iv 30. less than $300 bucks if i'm not wrong. the cleans are great and definitely have more headroom than a 5 watt tube.

Thnx bro.....

the Laney Cub amps might serve your needs in the mean time- on GSS @ Swee Lee (BB showroom),,,

I think the Laney suggestion is a good 1. I own the cub10: the clean is sweet and it takes pedals very well.
I understand what u mean by thick, but for me it works since I like my cleans dark and sad. Probably not good if I wanted to play country or rockabilly... :)
Since you don't want to follow the wise advise given to u about a SS, then maybe u should be looking at Fenders. But for sparkling clean NO WAY u'll get it with low wattage.
Good luck in ur quest!

too thick?? i own the laney cub12r. can dial in from dark to bright. full eq and even a tone knob. keep it at full and u wont wanna have the amp in front of ur face!

sadly im not doing it justice cos im using mfx. hahaha. maybe sell and get a 4x12 solid state amp.

Thnx for the replies n recommendations,
Btw do u guys know where
Or who
Can modify my amp?
Wanna add a footswitch....
Thnx

i seriously doubt a 1 watt tube amp is going to give you the cleans you are looking for unless you practise at low volumes. then again, low volume practise where got shiok? lol

a 5 watt would be just nice for self practise in your bedroom, but it's not good enough for a jam with an acoustic drumset if you want cleans at jamming volumes.
