Single or Multi efx pedal?

hmm...ok
i got no such prob...
well perhaprs its ur setting...like i mention ealier im using it with a behringer fcb1010 footswitch..

as a matter of fact i find that the PODXT is very loud..
the only think it is lacking is a harmonizer/pitch shifter..

Well given a choice I prefer multi fx.. mine is Zoom GFX5 n Zoom 607.. Cool pedal n easy to use..sound great if u r into heavy metal stuff and wanna have crystal clear plucking/strumming..

I prefer individual stompbox. But for most people, multi efx offers us a better value I guess.

Btw, PodXT live will be around 700+. I just asked at Citymusic.

700+ for podxt live is abt the same price as GT-6 right?

hmm..where can i sell those pedals away?

does having a distortion and overdive pedal seems unnecessary?

hmm..okai..i will check out those pedals u guys mention..thanks e..which kinnda efx produce warm tones? think its the same type of warm as u guys..

btw..any nice flanger pedal for recommendation too? hee

v amp for direct recordin

yo enigma, im kinda curious.... how are the sounds on the v amp?
have u tried it in a recording situation?? i sometimes i want to try out direct recording, but pod is kinda waaay out there. any pointers?

Sounds on the X V-amp

Hi,

Just to clarify first. The model I have is the X V-amp not the V-amp 2 or the V-amp Pro. So this one is just for the X V-amp.

Just got it last week. Haven't tried it in a recording situation yet.
It sounds great over a really really clean amp.

i.e. Plug direct to mixer and parallel out to monitor.

However, when plugged in direct to a guitar amp, needs a little bit of EQing to settle down cus the amp will 'colour' the sound which the X V-amp produces.

When I first got it, tried it with my boss Francis of Guitar Workshop. He said that the sounds were to trebly and digitized. I thought so too. Cus' we were running it through a Peavey amp.

Until I brought it home, and read the manual, did some EQing on the X V-amp and plugged it through a set of headphones. i.e. Clean Channels.
Then did it sound really good.

I like especially, the Vox AC30, Fender Twin Reverb Blackface and Marshall amp modelling sounds. Cus' it suits my style just fine.

Anyway, I did email someone who used it for recording before I bought it the second time (My original was faulty and I exchanged it for a full refund).
You can find his review on Harmony Central.
Here's his reply.

"Yup, sounds like you've got a bad one. It's definitely worth giving it another chance. I just used mine on a label project for some solo's. Sounds great!

-Eric"

thanks for the prompt reply, not to hijack dis thread or anythin.
but i own a Zoom 707 first model. tried recording it
direct from guitar to zoom 707 to mixer to soundcard
compared dat to the newer 707 II, the 707 II sounds thicker, warmer.
also tried micing it from guitar to 707 II to cheap rocktek amp to shure SM 57 to mixer to soundcard. its has alot more tone IMHO.
some effects work good dis way some dun, my 0.2cents is dat individual stomp boxes work best for its own sound, if u need more variety add a chain of pedals. heheh
but if ure on a budget get a multifx pedal. juz my 0.2 cents tho

anyway, enigma.... do u have recorded samples of it i can hear??

hmm..which place sells Sansamp GT2 e? and how much does it cost? the sansamp tri-ac sounds cool too..hw abot the proco rat 2..it sounds nice to me also. i juz got my mt-2 recently..cant really bare to part with it so soon :?

hmm..any comparison between these 4?

hi..i got my procorat from wakemeup music shop, which is located at queenstown, but if i'm not wrong, you can get it from Mr Misse too.

www.wakemeupmusic.com

yeah..it's not bad, but i'll suggest that you go for the mod. yupz.

there are really so many brands of distortion n overdrive n fuzz pedals around.. Zvex, Frantone, Banzai, Visual Sound, Fulltone, Proco, Radial, Nine Volt Nirvana etc. you can read up alot of the reviews here.. especially if you see something that you are not sure of.. http://www.harmony-central.com/Effects/Data/

dun be shy.. jus go n try things out..

you'll have to consider afew things.. budget, type of music, whatever your preferences are, range of pedals, analog, digital etc.. and what are your priorities.. ultimately, it's best to look around, see if your friends have any of these, try em out n hear from there.. it's good to look for used pedals if your budget is tight n esp when you r starting out.. also, there are infinite amount of sound clips of pedals in respective pedal manufacturers' sites..

some other local sites you can take a look at:

To users of the Sansamp Tri-AC, do you guys face any sort of delay when switching from one channel to another? Is there any sort of "popping" on the amp when pressing the footswitch. I read reviews of the Tri-AC and this matter seems to come up frequently.

Delay yes but its not that obvious.. Maybe a few milliseconds but I think its not too bad.. Popping sound, the one I used before didnt have such a prob...

Btw u can get all Tech21 products at Sinamex..
