single coil size humbuckers to reccomend?

Looking for one for the neck. Initially bought the shadow twinbucker. A bit disappointed. Was looking to get true humbucker sound. What i got was a single coil kinda sound but puchier and thicker.

What do u guys think of the mini jb jr, lil screamin demon, lil59 for the neck? Or maybe even the hotrails.

Btw for the bridge i already have a dimarzio tonezone which im quite happy with. I'm using a fernandes afr-65

for true humbucker sound get a true humbucker.

stacked singles or mini hums wont get the exact humbucker sound.

You got a Dimarzio Tonezone?

Try the Dimarzio Cruiser (Andy Timmons uses it) or the Chopper (Ron Thal).

Check with Edo83 about the Cruiser, sounds great.

Flat kind of eq?

Doesn't need to be mids.

I dig flat, even tones. Most dig mid heavy tones. Some like trebly tones.

Dimarzio's Cruiser is very single coil-ish, if you are looking for a humbucking tone, this might be one to avoid.

I had joe barden's in my tele... really nasty fat sound in the bridge. Sweet and fat in the neck.

Lil 59 man. the poles may not line up if your nut width isnt like Fenders... Then again some pole piece tweaks can fix it up.

Otherwise.. Consider Cool Rails.


Dimarzio wise.. Perhaps the Super Distortion S or a Fast Track 2.

I use a Fast Track 1 which smoothens out a whole lot under gain.. Could be to single coilish for your taste though.

shioks76, is your guitar a 22 fretter or 24? If its 22, I rather retain a real single coil, or some stacked single that sounds very single (hahaha), to retain the sweetness of that harmonic sweetspot.

the Dimarzio Crusiers do a great job of emulating single single coils. Albeit, really fat ones.

Actually just the other day i was cranking my cheapo old single's and it has HUM ?!?! but what comes with that makes it magical ...hard to explain :? ...Has that nice chime thingy you know....plus punchy ...
ok my head pain...just havin a hot day.

Well talkin abt single's get something not too hot and set it to this setup

my guits a 24 fretter with floyd rose.

Its the earlier incaarnation of the fernandes revolver. B4 they changed the name, aded the sustainer pup and moved production from japan to china.

ill go check out the lil 59, looks promising.

wow nice. very rare to find 24 fret guitars without the floyd rose hassle and even with HSS combi. good stuff.
